'The staff were super nice and helpful. We were a little disappointed in the state of the hotel as it looks a little run down. The pictures make it look nicer than it is. Our bathroom had a broken tile, and the shower layout was tight for one person and got water all over the floor. We paid for a seaweed bath which wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t say it was worth the money. We were able to use the hot tub and sauna for free because we purchased one of the bath treatments but they charge $30 for anyone...

'The Beach House (annex) is a well equipped house, with a wonderful view. A short walk takes you to the beach. Other walks in the area are near Strandhill and at the Glencar Waterfall. We drove through the Ox Mountains and had a beautiful walk at Aughris Head. We loved to watch the cows and sheep in the morning outside the house. 'We had the most wonderful stay in Katie's Cottage. We met the lovely host Caroline on arrival and we couldn't have gotten a warmer welcome. There was fresh scones with jam and butter and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The house was absolutely immaculate with loads of fresh towels and bed linen.
