This property was beautiful and the Cartecay River was amazing to stay on. It was the week of Thanksgiving and the temperature was COLD (low of 22) but the cabin stayed warm without really any issue.The decorations were lovely, the home itself had a log book going back to the late 90s detailing many of the visitors and was a great read as a fan of history.The kitchen had many of the items we needed to cook, but not all. Be prepared that you may have to buy some of the basics (oil and salt) and they had a griddle instead of a frying pan, but the kitchen itself was completely usable (we cooked Thanksgiving here).There's a wood-burning stove in the living room, but it's decorative only, so no real fireplace.Close to downtown and amenities (we had a hospital visit and the drive was less than 10 minutes) so if you need to run to the store for something, no issues at all.This property is a great one, and if we plan on coming back, this property is one we would love to revisit.

Cabin was very cozy. Den is roomy with plenty sitting. The river and porch was so nice and relaxing after town. Built a fire at river. Dogs loved the yard and newly built river deck. True river cabin!

Beautiful property on the Cartecay River, the cabin is very clean inside and perfect for a family of 3-4. Easy check in/check out.

Cozy little cabin

Cozy little cabin awesome views of the cartecay river with quick access to downtown ellijay. We did have to be careful letting our small chihuahua outside to use bathroom due to 2 large stray dogs. Could have been dogs from some of the permanent residents near the cabin. Other then that very nice stay and nice part of the river with some rapids.

Quaint River Cabin

Great little cabin. Well appointed. Right on the river with a deck platform to oversee the water a plus. Really enjoyed our stay. One issue - The upstairs bedrooms are not adequately air conditioned. Need a separate unit with thermostat for that area. There was an overhead fan and an extra floor fan, but all they did was circulate warm air.

Relaxing Retreat

The property was exactly as described and pictured. Our son loved playing in the creek and we all enjoyed relaxing as we listened to the sound of the river. We wish the AC could have been colder at night, but other than that this was a perfect getaway!

This is the perfect cabin to get away to and relax. The sound of the river is unmatched. The closeness to Ellijay is convenient. See deer and lots of birds was an added plus.

What a find!

We have rented in the area for years, and far and away, the landscaping was superior. The front porch was world class. Nicely equipped, very clean and well maintained. Easy to get to as well. We'll be back.

Gorgeous place.

What a gorgeous & wonderful experience. Just what we were looking for. Can not beat the river & watching the kayakers & tubers. The cabin/house was beautiful. The whole place was. The Only con, I took my elderly parents & there is steep steps & stairs but we made it work. Just beware of that.

RIVER RELAXATION

A quick 3 night getaway with the hubs was AWESOME-- cabin was quiet, clean, convenient, and just a few easy steps to the river...and the sound of the river made for a relaxing trip-- great Harley riding, and convenient to town, stores. We had a great stay at this cabin and plan to come back!

**pet friendly**

I assumed 'pet-friendly' meant pets were allowed, not that the furniture and linens were covered in hair and pet smell. Called (right away) to see if there was anything to be done (transfer to another home or anything). Not surprised the answer was 'no'. I was surprised the answer was that we would have had to have called the week before (as if we simply changed our minds last minute) as we wouldn't have known about the pet hair/smell until we arrived. Spent the first night cleaning, replaced the bedding with my own, slept my allergy meds off and got up and left the next day to go home instead of staying because we were both sneezing and itching incessantly. I have stayed at 'pet friendly' homes before. Usually there's an extra fee for pets. I assumed that was because the home needed to be deep-cleaned or at least more thoroughly cleaned after the stay. I did not realize it meant there would be pet hair/smell throughout the home or else I wouldn't have chosen this home. That being said, the river was really something special. The yard and neighboring homes were gorgeous. The home's construction was charming and sweet. Still very sad we couldn't stay the whole trip, (and that we spent our anniversary driving home in the rain) but there's no lesson learned quite like an expensive one. Won't make that mistake again.

Great property except for the road

The cabin is perfectly fine and as advertised. There's not a thing wrong with it. The property is beautiful, right on the river. Ellijay is 10 minutes away and has all the dining and shopping amenities anyone needs. What would keep me from renting again is the condition of the spur road into the neighborhood. It is in such poor condition that getting around the holes is difficult, especially when dark or wet. If the road is owned by the county, I urge some sort of pressure to get it fixed. If owned by homeowners along the road, everybody should chip in to get it fixed. It's really a matter of economic development for vacation rental properties.

Wonderful Stay!

My family and I visted the week between Christmas and New Year. To our surprise, it had snowed a considerable amount the night before we arrived, so we got to enjoy the snow for a couple of days. Fortunately, there was no ice on the road to the cabin, so it did not impact our ability to get in and out. Overall, we had an amazing time! The cabin was cozy and comfortable, perfect for our family of 3. Our 5 year old enjoyed exploring the area and collecting lady bugs. We all enjoyed the firepit and soothing sound of the river. The location is perfect! Close to downtown Ellijay, restaurants, grocery stores, state parks and wineries. The cabin does have neighbors, but this did not affect our stay as it was quiet and we still felt private. We contacted the property management company for a leak and they came out right away and fixed the problem. Strong wifi and smart tvs were a definite plus! Such a great little cabin to make lasting memories. =)

The cabin was quaint, spacious, and right on the river. We loved that it had a level grassy yard right up to the edge of the water providing a great place to sit and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Not secluded

I was hesitant to reserve a property with zero reviews on VRBO, but the management company website had dozens of 5 star reviews for this property. First, If you're looking for a secluded cabin the woods, this is not the cabin for you. The app won't allow me to attach photos, but there were houses very close to the property on both sides. Defining "occasional" The listing says enjoy the "occasional laughter of passerby's coming down the river". A tubing company just upstream launched batches of tubers every 20 minutes to float by the cabin. Heating / Air conditioning The downstairs (consisting of the living room, kitchen, and half bath) cooled quickly and easily; however, the upstairs (2 small bedrooms and a full bath) were easily 10-15 degrees warmer with only floor vents that did not provide much access to the cool air. They do have fans in every room, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Know before you go If you like to cook, be sure to bring your own spices and non-stick cooking spray. The home owner provided salt and pepper. The listing states there is no Keurig coffee maker, but there is one! Overall the stay was pleasant. The owners communicated well and the cabin (other than its proximity to other houses) was as pictured.

Wonderful week-end

Property was beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing. We loved sitting on the deck or by the river watching the tubing and kayakes go by. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous. We really didn’t want to leave❤️
