Just 45 minutes from Hobart, Dunalley is a small town by the sea with a canal and swing bridge separating it from the Tasman Peninsula.
Affected but also in a way spared from annihilation which could have befallen them in the disastrous fires that roared through the area in January 2013, Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed sits above the town, overlooking Bangor Vineyard, Blackman Bay, Marion Bay and Norfolk Bay where some of Australia's best oysters are grown.

Now it is a stop on the way to or from Port Arthur or a retreat after work on Friday nights when it is open in summer until 9.00pm. Award winning wines, cheese & antipasto platters and dishes of the day plus great coffee make this one of my favourite weekend call-bys.

'Jen was very communicative and organised. All the necessary info was sent ahead of time and the house manual was very helpful, with clear instructions. 'This property was a wonderful stay for four friends travelling together. We were able to relax on the deck overlooking the vineyard and the bay, spread out in the two large living spaces, knock up a meal in the well appointed kitchen or BBQ, or take a short walk down to the beach.
