'The hotel called just before check-in to say they were giving me a complimentary room upgrade. I don’t know what my original room looked like but this one is new, clean, comfortable and has a water view. Breakfast was not provided and the room price was higher than I usually spend, but then prices on the island’s restaurants are high, too. If I have any advice to give it’s that be mindful of the season’s end toward late October; the diminished crowds is nice but the island gives off a ghost town...
