'This hotel lists their location as downtown Puerto Maldonado. Actual location is 20+ minutes outside the town on a dirt road. Impossible to get taxi service to town. The additional trips for food for our Amazon excursions cost 60 soles each way. Driver said price is higher since you have long trip just to pickup client. Resort wanted to charge me for Dinner and Breakfast when my reservation stated both were included. Staff at resort were nice and understood our frustration with situation. When...

'True jungle experience. Brought in on long covered top boat, must walk on mud steps to get from boat to real steps. Cabins are rustic with screen windows. Bed covered in mosquito netting. Cold showers. Power on 6-9 pm, which was fine bc you go to sleep early. Meals were quite good. Our guide, Marcello, provided by the lodge, was excellent.
