'Ik had de indruk dat het hotel inmiddels een ondergeschikte rol heeft gekregen t.o.v. de welness. Op zich een prima laatste verblijf voor inscheping Newcastle. Afstand tot de boot goed aan te rijden, echter wel rekening houden met traffic jam rondom Edinburgh. kamers een beetje oubollig, lampjes stuk, bad loopt niet goed door en dat is helemaal vervelend als je moet douchen in het bad. Hier en daar wordt alles wat sleets. Erg jong personeel dat wel zijn best doet, echter duidelijk (oudere)...

'Host is lovey. This is an old pub that’s being converted into various rooms on the top 2 floors. Bathrooms are not on-suite however their are adequate facilities to be shared amongst the rooms so this wasn’t an issue for me. Value for money is second to none. The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious enough for 1-2 travellers. Downstairs their is a kitchen and eating area (multiple booths) so you can prepare and cook your own food. 'The staff is friendly and always available to help. Breakfast was ready in time despite the early hour. The staff was very helpful in letting use my room as long as possible on the check out day. '

'Great place to stay, not far from Edinburgh. Small hotel, cosy rooms, clean and good bed and shower. Diner was perfect and very affordable. Breakfast also. Staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.'

'Beautiful an luxurious hotel. Well equipped and nicely decorated hotel room with everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. Good breakfast with a view over the Old Course and town. Allergies were perfectly dealt with. Location of the Sands Grill could be better: no windows/outside view, which is a pity for such a marvelous hotel location. Be aware that the use of the spa pool has certain restrictions in time when no further spa treatment is booked.'
