'Honestly not bad for Lake County. Bed's were OK, place was clean with a full kitchen. My issues were I asked about coffee and they said it was in the room. Great. It was all decaf. Totally unacceptable for me I need my coffee in the morning so that brought down the stars considerably. Also not very kosher about checking in early made me wait right until check in time which is uncommon at almost every hotel I've ever been to. Not a big deal though, just don't expect an early check in. Also like...

'Checked in late , 2100 hours. Once in the room, one bed looked as though it had been slept in. It was unmade with all pillows stacked on it. Trash can was full. Towels hung over shower door. Called the answering service since the office was closed. The manager’s wife talked to me. The manager came by to “verify” that the room has not been serviced. The two of them offered an upgrade to a room with 2 kings and a view of the lake. This room was clean. I also got a later check out time by 2 hours....

I ended up going to buy another pillow from Walmart for my husband because he needs 2. Overall I liked the Travel Lodge and will stay there when I come back to town.'

'Okay - speaking as the wife of a train buff, staying here as a birthday surprise was a no brainer. The question was - would I regret it? Is a vacay stay in a caboose comfortable or just kitschy?
