Chattahoochee Shoals – Cozy Pet Friendly River Cottage

Bring your fishing rods for excitement on the banks of the Chattahoochee River! Chattahoochee Shoals boasts over 220 feet of riverfront. In this newly renovated home, guests will enjoy two floors of indoor and outdoor living space, with spectacular river views throughout. Open any door at Chattahoochee Shoals to enjoy the relaxing sound of the Chattahoochee River rushing over the plentiful rocks and boulders. Bring your kayak or just sit by the water and let the day flow by. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the river while grilling on the gas barbecue, take the new stairs down to the outdoor firepit. Don't forget Fido or Fifi! Chattahoochee Shoals is pet-friendly.

The main level has an open floor plan (new flooring), with new cozy furniture and a smart TV. There is a subscription to YouTube TV so you have access to live local news, sports, movies, and your favorite tv shows. Dine at the round table or the bench table in the kitchen, while enjoying all the light that shines from the walls of windows. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a king-size bed. The adjacent bath featuring a shower/tub combination.

The kitchen has new granite countertops, full-size stainless steel appliances, and brand-new cabinets and backsplash tiles. The cabinets are filled with all the dishes, pots, pans and utensils you will need to cook up a fantastic meal at home, or at your new home-away-from-home! The coffee maker is both a standard drip with a 12-cup carafe and a one-cup Keurig. Just off the kitchen is the laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

Upstairs, the oversized loft has two queen beds, a sitting area, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Downstairs is the large entertainment room with a large screen Smart TV, also connected to YouTube TV. The hot tub is located just out the sliding glass doors. The new furniture in this room is a futon sofa and lounger. Room for 3 more guests! The downstairs bathroom has also been remodeled with a brand-new walk-in shower.

Guests frequently return to this jewel to enjoy the river and the ever-changing year-round views. Now it's time to revisit to see all the renovations and upgrades to a family favorite!

The road going to this cabin is gravel and dirt. The long steep private drive is paved and has a one-way sign for easier access and direction. We recommend an AWD or 4X4 during winter months.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $50 + tax for each additional.

• Parking: Space is available for 2 vehicles.

Had a great time. We can only come back if we get a 4wd vehicle, but luckily we made it out of the driveway. A few times it was iffy actually getting out, but the listing did mention that so I didn’t take off any stars for it. Other than that. Loved the space, the hot tub, and the roominess for the price!!!

PERFECT place to stay! Our family of 4 had so much fun. The cabin was great! Spacious, clean, quiet. We never saw another person. There is a cabin next door, but no renters at the time. The cabin has everything you need. Cell service is low, but the cabin has wifi. Smart TV’s were great for the kids. Hot tub was amazing! (The breaker to turn on is behind the red fencing) The river was so much fun! The river was very low, so all the shoals were exposed and we spent most days just walking up and down the river and exploring. We even hired a photographer for a family photoshoot on the river. The walk down to the river is a little steep, but pretty easy. The driveway as stated in some other reviews is a little difficult. Half is gravel, the other half closest to the cabin is concrete. The drive up the driveway when you hit the gravel is challenging in 2WD. Luckily, we rented a suv that has 4WD which made it easier. Would reccomend the owner have it graded more often. The dips in the gravel from people’s tires is what makes it difficult. Cabin is close enough to town, but far enough away. We would come back again and again.

The house/cabin was comfortable and the view in the back is just wonderful. Our only issue was that we found out late the hot tub wasn’t full and did not get to use it all weekend. However property manager did respond and gave a small refund.

Great stay on the River

The space felt smaller than the pictures but the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a holiday stay. The gravel driveway took skills and a high clearance car to manage. Everything was clean and location on the river was very relaxing

Memorable get-a-way

I wanted to get away and hide in nature and this home fit the bill perfectly! The sound of the river was so calming and the hot tub made it better. I watched the kids hopping along the rocks while enjoying my coffee. Gorgeous views!! The house also had everything we needed to make a Thanksgiving feast. The only thing that stressed me out was that driveway. My car barely made it up the hill and sustained some damage. I would return but with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Highly recommend.

Mold

The view and location was amazing. Very steep driveway. The cabin was nice. The only problem is m allergic to mold and suffer from chronic migraines. The minute ee opened the door the mold smell hit you in the face. I was up all night sick from the smell triggering my headaches. Called property management and told them we were checking out due to the mold smell . They quickly did a refund for part of our trip. That about sums it up.

Snowy Christmas Getaway

Our stay was amazing. The cabin was a little hard to get to, and hard to get out of with small cars. Ylhowever, that didn't damper our stay one bit. We stayed 5 days and 4 nights over Christmas. It has plenty, I mean plenty, of space for celebrations like that. My daughter and I stayed in the loft area, my parents had the master, and we all used the downstairs game area from time to time. My dad mostly stayed down there to avoid all the ladies, as my aunts came over every day to visit from their cabin. We enjoyed the cabin immensely and have decided we will be vacationing every year for Christmas. A genuinely great experience.

Chattahoochee Shoals - Excellent getaway!

Week long getaway at a secluded cabin, just what we needed. The cabin is perfect. Beautiful view of the river, great fishing access and not far from Helen and Dahlonega. Cabin was very clean, perfect for the three of us and quite private. They provide the basics, but I recommend that you bring everything you need. Air hockey was a plus! Beds are comfortable. The gravel road is fine. Driveway from gate down to house is steep and recommend a capable vehicle. Will definitely come back again.

Christmas Surprise

Unfortunately we arrived after dark which was first mistake, there was no lighted property identification which cause several “turn-arounds” on poorly designed roads. After finally arriving at the property we made an almost tragic mistake by entering the first driveway which was extreme decline. The GMC Sierra we were driving was NOT a 4WD which presented other challenges with trying to park in the very limited parking area for 3 vehicles. Outside step beside the cabin leading down to the river needs to be repaired or replaced, every step was completely deteriorated - dangerous! The plumbing from upstairs can be heard draining when laying in bed in downstairs bedroom. I love rustic vacation sites but this place is in need of repair and renovation to make it safe for guests. The positive is - beautiful view of The River

More bad than good

I would have loved to give this cabin a great review but I just can't. First of all, I had asked for an early check in which we got and I really appreciated that. However, the property manager was supposed to call me before check in time of 2:00 with key pad code but did not. I had to call and luckily walked around the driveway and got a phone signal. The drive up to the cabin is treacherous. Luckily my party had to larger vehicles. I don't believe a smaller vehicle will make the treacherous drive which is not paved to the cabin. I would hate to be there in an ice or snow storm. I feel that I should have been warned about the drive to the cabin once you turn off the main road. Walked into the cabin and the musky smell was over powering. Went to open the curtains and let some fresh air in through the sliding glass doors and it was disgusting. Dead bugs all over where the sliding doors open. This cabin was far from clean. It felt so dirty and I have stayed in many cabins in my life. It was very disappointing. The only thing good about the trip was the company of my party and the view. I would never stay here again.

Weekend mountain getaway

We stayed at this cabin for a two night fall weekend in the mountains. The gate was locked when we first arrived and we had to call the mgt company to gain access to the property. The kitchen was under stocked, compared to other places we've stayed. The hot tub wasn't working properly. The house had persistent flies, which seemed odd for late Oct. The location is gorgeous, but getting to the back where the fire pit is and down to the river bank is quite precarious. Lots of steep, uneven ground with exposed roots that was hard for us to navigate. The actual spot had a beautiful view. The towels were well stocked. Plenty of trash bags and dishwasher tabs provided. Wifi worked well. Kids enjoyed the air hockey table.

Cozy, Pet-friendly get away

This property was overall as advertised. The floors weren’t particularly clean when we arrived, and the property is in need of some maintenance (chips in the paint, cracks between pieces of flooring, sloping floor in the kitchen). So it wasn’t quite as nice as it appeared in the photos, but it was comfortable for our kids and pets and provided the seclusion we were looking for on vacation. The air hockey table in the basement isn’t in the best shape either, but our kids enjoyed playing with it. The mattress and pillows in the main bedroom are a little on the stiff side, but there was plenty of hot water for everyone (upstairs and down), and the hot tub was clean and functional. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and flatware, but very little else (no coffee or condiments, unlike other properties we’ve stayed at). We also noticed that the exterior of the blender had not been cleaned, so heads-up if you’re into breakfast smoothies. It is truly a lovely location, though. It’s a short but steep walk down to the river, and there’s a nice view of it from the deck (which you can close off for dogs and kids). It’s also a steep drive down the driveway as others have mentioned, but our compact awd suv handled it just fine. (I wouldn’t want to do it in the snow, though.) There are several towns within 20-30 minutes and we found plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating available, and there are several scenic walks/hikes with waterfall views within 20-40 minutes as well. All in all, we’d recommend staying here because it has the essentials and it’s a beautiful and conveniently located property.
