'Very nice place with a clear sense of detail. We opted for the Deluxe room — spacious, beautifully decorated, and with a big bathtub and a super-size bed. Breakfast was very Chinese/Asian-oriented, and after a few days we decided to skip it — the coffee was terrible, and simple Western items like cheese or granola were missing. The rest of the buffet looked fine, just not to our taste for the morning. Staff were friendly in a typically Chinese way — not many smiles, but attentive and efficient...

'Gezellig hotel op super goede locatie in het centrum van Shanghai. Onbtijt is uitgebreid genoeg, terras aan de ontbijt/eet ruimte, kamers zijn rustig al hadden wij wat last van straatlawaai aan de voorzijde. Bedden zijn HEMELS!!'

'what I like about the renaissance hotel is mainly the atmosphere in the hotel. A lot of chinese hotels are beautiful but overwhelming huge. Too high ceilings, too much marmor. The renaissance is more boutique like with good sound and atmosphere. Everything is there, very comfortable but not overdone'

'I got a basic single bed room. It was small but had everything I needed. Light switches could be controlled by the unit right next to the bed. Bottled water and slippers were available in-room. Toothpaste/comb were provided at check-in if you needed it. Lots of dining options in the area. It was walking distance to the metro station (good if your luggage isn't huge or heavy). They could also hold your luggage after check out. '

'Always a pleasure staying at the central hotel, as well as the grand central hotel. Amazing location just around the corner of Nanjing road and the bund, very convenient family mart across the road. Metro station “East Nanjing road” at 5 minute walking distance. Amazing friendly staff that speak excellent English. Absolute go to when staying in the tourist center of Shanghai.'
