This was by far the worst rental experience I have ever had.Upon arrival, the home had severely poor air quality with overwhelming odors of cigarette smoke and urine throughout the property. The smell was immediate and unmistakable, clearly present before we arrived. Within minutes, I developed a headache from the air quality.I was traveling with a newborn baby, and the conditions were absolutely unsafe and unacceptable for an infant. No family especially one with a newborn should be expected to stay in an environment like this.To make matters worse, there were people standing around the property actively smoking marijuana, further impacting the air quality and creating an environment that felt unsafe and inappropriate for guests. This occurred upon arrival and was completely outside of my control.The most disturbing part of this experience was the host’s response. There was no concern shown for my health or my daughter’s health despite the poor air quality and unsafe conditions. The host’s only stated concern was collecting payment for the reservation. We were explicitly told that a refund would only be considered if the host was able to secure another booking for the same dates, despite the property being uninhabitable upon arrival.The property was not clean, not safe, and not as advertised. This was not a minor inconvenience it was a serious health and safety issue that made the home uninhabitable. We were unable to stay. For your safety do not book this property.
