Kingfisher Lodge with sensational loch views

Kingfisher Lodge is located on the Portnellan Estate and offers tasteful and luxurious self catering accommodation sleeping up to 4 people within 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom and open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Situated in the heart of the central Highlands of Scotland with spectacular loch, glen and mountain views all around Pinemarten's setting is magnificent where a true highland landscape awaits you and it is often complimented on the abundance of bird and wild life that can be regularly seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the property. 




Kingfisher has recently been refurbished throughout. The bedroom configuration is a king sized double with ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower and a twin bedroom and shower room. A fitted kitchen with all mod cons to include washing machine, dishwasher, double oven and ceramic hob, microwave and large fridge with freezer. An open plan living area leads onto a private balcony with a panoramic view of Loch Dochart and the dramatic rugged mountains of Glen Dochart. All can be viewed from the garden furniture provided. Gaze the other direction and marvel at the iconic mountain of Ben More that rises from your back garden. Simply stunning. 




The lodge is equipped with a LCD TV with SKY package, Blu Ray DVD, Wi-Fi is available free of charge. There is even an onsite visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat from a farm locally for sale (perfect for a BBQ or home cooking), local information, a varied selection of board games and DVDs. 




The Portnellan Estate has been privately owned by the same family for nearly 40 years and offers fantastic facilities including fresh run wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, plenty of trails for on and off road biking, a games room with table tennis, table football, pool table and a small gym. Kayaks and rowing boats are free to use on the river and loch and EV trickle charging at the lodge. New for 2025 is our brand new 'BBQ hutte' which can be hired exclusively to enjoy a real flame BBQ with friends and family and our outdoor sauna which can also be hired.




Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minutes, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area. Whether you are looking for the adrenaline rush of adventure or lazy days on your doorstep, out and about on the many hills in the local area or exploring one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.

We had no idea what to expect before we arrived, and we had travelled from the United States to attend her birthday. The magic of Portnellan added to the magic of seeing my daughter turn 21. What a beautiful location, and the cottages were lovely vacation homes with everything we could need. Everyone had a terrific time, the young ones and us old-timers!     Booked on vrbo host came to see us not long after check in and said we had got a bargain seemed annoyed told us what we should have paid and then told what we paid . we paid what it came up online so we hadn’t done anything wrong .we are angry at this as the couple travelling with us we had bought for their anniversary gift and Cameron wasted no time in stating price of trip which was very unprofessional. I had to chase up details of check in which I only received day before trip. Cameron (the host ) also said we were nearly not coming which again was no fault of ours and again very unprofessional.
