'We stopped in Puntarenas on our way back from the west coast to San Juan. Unless you are curious to see all of Costa Rica, there is not much at all in this area. It's a filthy, poor area with little to offer, even though it is so close to the beach. The hotel is kind of old and tired with an unclean looking pool. Food is mediocre at best. We had a suite in the newly build tower, supposedly with a view over the marina. No view unless you stand on the balcony. We asked for a different room but got...

'This is a great place to stay. Especially when you stay in one of the rooms on top of the hill. We had room nr 7 and we saw a lot of monkeys in the trees nearby. Our first morning, we woke up at 5 by the noise of howler monkeys! Half an our later we could even see them in the trees after the room! The swimming pool is also a good place to relax and spot wildlife, we saw a lot of kapucijn monkeys and squirl monkeys, and humming birds! 'Beautiful location, with beautiful swimmingpool with view over the Ocean, Ara's and whales. Friendly employees (95%), but for a 5star expected I more... For my Birthday I got a special dessert. Massage was nice with the sounds of the Ara's and ocean at the background. Spacy room and good beds. At sealevel an extra place to stay. I can recommend this hotel!'

'Mooie ruime huisjes, zeer vriendelijk personeel. Geweldig paardrijden met Martin. Aapjes, eekhoorntjes en mooie vogels in bomen. Yoga leraren erg goed en mooie spa. Keuken heerlijk. Chef en sous-chef (19 jaar!) echt goed en bevlogen. Aanrader!'

'Prachtig gelegen hotel met privestrand en een prachtig regenwoud met enorm veel dieren (slangen, apen, krabben, luiaards, leguanen, vlinders) op eigen terrein. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijke en stelt alles in het werk om je verblijf tot een geweldige ervaring te maken. Eten is voortreffelijk en goed geprijsd.
