Perfect location

We enjoyed our stay with life in paradise! It was the perfect location with access to the beach as well as restaurants and shopping. Easy check in process and great front door parking. Will stay here again!

PA Easter stay

The location was perfect! Right over the dunes to the beautiful beach. Short drives to any location. Spacious and comfortable living space. A few things need a little love (fan, frying pan, front light) As a whole it was a great place to stay and no crowds at the time of our stay. Very relaxing. Suggestion: leave some brochures of places of interest or a book for guests to write in about what their experiences or favorite places to visit or things to do were.

Family time

Overall goodtime easy access to beach and pool,kitchen was very useful and clean.would definitely stay again only issue was being able to contact someone about early check in(hour or so early) or late checkout(hour or so late)and if there was any handicap access.

Great Location close to Beach and Pools

We stay at Island Retreat every year. This was the first time in this unit. We liked the extra space with the 4th bedroom. It was just a bit dusty in places and the floors were not very clean. May not have been cleaned for a while?? Also the main refrigerator was not working. A smaller refrigerator was there and we filled it up. One dining chair had a broken leg. We reported all this to onsite office- so hopefully all will be fixed before next visitors. We would definitely stay again…assuming a little TLC happens in the interim.

Amazing value and location

Enjoyed Thanksgiving in this very spacious condo with ocean waves heard right outside the door. It is in need of items like a can opener, veggie steamer, pasta strainer, cooking utensils, basic glass wine glasses, more porch chairs and better shampoo and conditioner so pack your own. But considering the fair rental price and location we will return for sure . It is mainly tile floor without rugs and cleaning crew could do a better on getting dust balls and floor cleaner. We rented a golf cart through the rental agency but will rent elsewhere next time since we did not get the cart delivered until almost 4:00 and the lights did not work so we only had use of it for 1.5 hours but was charged a full days rental. :( All in all this unit is priced fairly.

Port A Get Away

The unit was a great size. I loved that there were four bedrooms and plenty of space. They don’t mention the 4th bedroom, I suspect because it doesn’t have windows. It is just off the living room and has a small Murphy bed. The kitchen was fairly well appointed and had all we needed to cook. We were close to the pool and all of the outdoor amenities. The downside to the unit was the level of cleanliness. The floors were filthy. Your feet would literally be black without shoes. The furniture was dirty and cheap and ready to be replaced. At a minimum needed a good scrub. We washed all the bedding before using, because it looked suspect. Overall, we made due, did some of our own cleaning and had a good time. If management corrected the cleanliness of the unit, this would be an excellent value.

Great Mini Vacay

This property is exactly as portrayed on the listing. It is spacious, clean, and has easy access to one of the pools and ocean. Even the tennis courts and playground area are a few steps away. There was ample parking for us and our family right in front of the condo. There are plenty dishes and cooking items. The only funny thing was only a few spoons in the cutlery drawer. I'm sure management will take care of that. Speaking of management, this was a very responsive group to work with. Every question from us had a response almost immidiately. Pleanty of bath towels but no beach towels. There is not a hairdryer now but again, I believe management will be providing one in the future. The AC and wifi worked perfectly. We really emjoyed the Seafood and Spaghetti Restaurant - delicious and huge servings. The best bread pudding we've ever had. For our family of 7, grandparents, daughter and SIL, and 3 kiddos - twin 6 year old girls and 12 year old young man, we found the condo and area to be just right for our short stay. Highly reccommend.

Nice location

This was conveniently located at the oceanside with a boardwalk down to the water, which we really enjoyed. The internet was difficult to use. The tech guy came out and tried to help but we basically ended up using our own mobile Hotspot because it still didnt work and we didnt want to bother him again. It was very clean and accommodations were nice.

Loved the location!

Really enjoyed staying at this place! Short walk to the beach and was really close to the pool and tennis court as well. Not sure why the room off the living room isn't mentioned in the description. It acts as a 4th bedroom and was really nice to have with our group. Really appreciated the large amount of towels, soap and trash bags that were provided. Conveniently located to several nice restaurants, if you stay here, check out Port A pizzeria! You won't be disappointed! There was some noise a couple of days from construction going on in the unit above us, but that's not the owners fault. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Overall stay experience

Floors are very disgusting. If you have any crawler do not let them crawl on floor. Must walk in shoes or else your feet will be black with in an hour. Closet doors not on hinges, pans and utensils need to be updated. Couches also need a good cleaning have lots of spots and look black in some areas. Back sliding door broke wouldn’t lock had to have a piece of stick to keep secure.

Great condo!

The condo was great. First floor. Easy access to the beach. Was even bigger than we expected. There's a 4th bedroom right off of the living room, too. Kitchen is big with modern appliances. Washer and driver. There were five of us, but easily could have had 3 more people stay here comfortably. Would stay here again.

Weirdly they don’t tell you about a bedroom. If you do the virtual tour closely you see it but wasn’t sure it was there until we got there. Was a perfect place for us - location, bedrooms etc. Floor needs a good cleaning (we had a crawling baby). Would have been nice if there were out door chairs. Management showed up quickly when the door knob broke. Great property & amenities- pools, playground etc

Family Stay

I highly recommend Island Resort. This was our first family vacation to Port A, I loved that the beach was a short walking distance. They had everything you need in kitchen. My kids loved the pool. Very clean. Beautiful view. Definitely going to stay here again.

Great location

Overall a nice place on the beach for kids to play. The condo is showing age as patio doors very difficult to open, missing handles, furniture aging and kitchen very inadequate for cooking and eating in. Served our purpose as being right on beach though and a good time.

Great place to stay with a few exceptions

Loved the size and location of the unit. The kitchen was not well stocked though. The few pans that were there made the food stick and difficult to clean. There was no can opener, blender, steak knives or toaster. These are always in all condos we have stayed at down there. We used to own a condo at Port A and were required to furnish these items. The floors and rugs were not very clean when we got there but everything else was clean. There were 5 adults and none of us could get the ceiling fans to work without the lights on or the dishwasher. i ended up having to pull all the dishes out and wash by hand eventually. Again, we loved a lot about this condo and unit. With the few items discussed here that need to be fixed, we would stay again if they are fixed. Overall enjoyed our stay here
