4/10 – Matig

I am staying in numerous 3- and 4-star pet-friendly hotels on a long road trip and this has been the worst by far. (most have been quite pleasant and priced better!) Here are my issues:
1) I tried calling a day before our stay to confirm that we are bringing a (very well-behaved) pet, and after going through a confusing chain of ad-laden phone prompts and hold time, was connected to an agent in another country who couldn't help but connected me to the front desk. That took 8 minutes. Next, I was immediately placed on hold and waited for 10 minutes before giving up.
2) At check-in, I confirmed that I had a dog and for the first time was told that would be a $150 fee. That is the highest fee I've had at any pet-friendly hotel. I didn't see any reference to that fee on booking.
3) There is self-parking but it is in a tiny, maze-like structure next to the hotel. By the time I arrived there was not one single space that could fit my mid-sized SUV. They charge $35 a night for that terrible parking. Thankfully there are a couple other bigger parking structures that are less expensive and only add a couple minutes of walking.
4) The room was dark, so dark! It is pretty dated. Even though it is a suite, the bathroom vanity is only about 30" wide with zero storage so there is barely enough counter space for two peoples' toiletries. The A/C is great in the front room and terrible in the bedroom.
5) Wi Fi keeps cutting out and is limited.
Pros: the lobby/breakfast is good.
