Serenity in North St. Croix

After a solid eight hours of travel over land and sea, I was highly relieved to arrive to a comfortable room at Arawak Bay Inn. Though the hotel is only about 2 or 3 miles off the main road, it felt secluded and calm. It was nice to be away from excessive motion. An added bonus is how safe the area is. I could comfortable take an early morning job on a path that overlooks the sea. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. It was fantastic! I had warm bed, cool room, made-to-order breakfast everyday and it was just about half-a-mile from the marina. I definitely recommend it to those who want a peaceful stay, while still being close enough to the main road to explore the island.

Great little place. Jennifer is fantastic. They have a nice breakfast in the morning. They were able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy. Very friendly. Really glad we stayed here.

Comfortable Hotel with a soul soothing view

Lovely place for a birthday getaway. Comfortable beds, wi-fi, extremely clean and quiet. Made to order breakfast was perfect and staff friendly. Would recommend it to friends and family.

Peace and Quiet

I liked the hotel, it was quiet, this is not for the family that wants the beach right outside their door. I loved the peace and quiet. The only problem I saw was that AT&T phone service is almost non-existent. Hotel staff, very friendly, courteous and mannerly.

You'd be missing out if you stayed somewhere else

The room was very clean and comfortable, the TV worked well and had cable, the air conditioning was fabulous (it was very humid outside), the Arawak included free breakfast (which is awesome because food is very expensive on St. Croix), bottled water, and there was a mini fridge in the room. There was also a stocked 'honor bar' by the pool, which meant you could drink when you wanted if you wanted, and the hotel trusts that you will pay for what you drink (I have never seen that before). The grounds were very clean and the staff was amazing. I had to visit St. Croix for a family emergency. I did not have time to research anything, I just googled some where to stay and left the same day for the island. Upon arrival, the staff I met (Henry), was welcoming and caring. When he said he would do something, he did it, and when we needed help, he helped. I spoke with the owner, who is by far the kindest and most helpful hotel owner I have ever communicated with. That in itself speaks volumes about the type of Inn that the Arawak is. My family was in the middle of an awful situation in a place that was on the other side of the world, yet I didn't feel alone. I have traveled extensively (although it's always been for adventure, not emergency), and have dealt with a lot of hotels; I have never met a hotel owner like here. I can't think of anything else to say but if I could it would be positive, there was not a single negative thing about the Arawak Bay The Inn By Salt River.

St Croix business trip.

There is No cellphone signal in the area. The bathroom door position is wrong,it should open out not to the inside of restroom. If you are using the toilet and somebody opens the door you could get hurt. Other that it is great place to stay.I love it.

Wonderful place with a terrific view

This is a wonderful place to stay!!!! It is between the 2 main cities on the island. It is only a short drive to some local restaurants. The breakfasts in the morning were terrific and individually prepared. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pleasant Hide Away

This was a delightful experience the views were great and laid back. The idea of not having a clock in the room was a great idea you could just relax and not worry about the time. Cell phone reception was poor at best, but that stop unwanted calls from the boss and clients from reaching you. The land line worked will if you need a call you could make one.

Loved everything about this hotel!

When I got off the plane I'm St. Croix. I realized that my Verizon wouldn't work and I did not have my gps. The maps I was given weren't very helpful because there were not road signs! I called the hotel and the owner stayed on the phone with me to make sure I made it to the hotel okay. The room was excellent and had everything that any other hotel would have; wifi, cable tv, mini fridge, cleanliness, comfortable bed, etc. the view was very pretty from the porch. The staff was very personable and made me feel comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Quiet beauty in the woods.

The hotel is located in a very quiet woodsy section of the island with ocean views from the second floor. Our host Henry went out of his way to be sure our stay was enjoyable.

Room was nice, very clean and on par for the price. View of Caribbean Sea, St. Johns and St. Thomas in the distance from the second floor rooms. The hotel is conveniently located if you plan exploring both sides of the island. Also, the Salt River area has it all as far as exploring the ecosystem of the island, mountain trail hiking nearby and kayak, fishing, scuba, and bioluminescence tours all at the marina less than a mile away. What makes this place stand out above the 2.5 star rating is the staff. The staff is incredible; polite, friendly, very helpful with information on things to do around the island. I highly recommend!

Perfect location for anyone renting a vehicle

The best part about this B&B is location. No it isn't on the beach but access from a main road is easy and you can get everywhere on island within 40 minutes, whether it be Rainbow beach or Point Udall. The rooms are immaculate and they come in everyday to service them. The rooms are very up to date despite what other reviews have said. The wifi can be spotty if your room is far from the router but if you are close there is never a problem. Always allow time for the breakfast as they are incredible and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. It has a beautiful view as do most places on the island and the price is well worth what you get in return. This isn't a place to hang out all day while you are on vacation, but it is a place to call home and relax in the evening and wake up to before you go about your day. All my expectations were met and I would highly recommend Arawak to anyone.
