'Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel. The buildings are very old and the rooms don't even have a mini fridge — in a hot destination like Cancun, having no way to keep water cold in your room is a real problem.
The location is also a major downside. It's far from everything you'd actually want to do in Cancun, and any taxi ride costs at least $50, which adds up quickly.
The food was basic and not tasty. I was looking forward to fresh tropical fruit, but what was offered didn't look fresh...

'Seriously lovely experience. I was concerned about being overrun by kids …. Totally was not. There were plenty of adults vacationing. Something for everyone. Very clean , well maintained. I really loved the staff- very helpful and kind. I tried to tip frequently and would recommend the same for anyone going , who can do this. These people were working their butts off !!!!!!!!! Would absolutely visit again. My kids had the time of their lives. Thank you !'

'for a 4 star hotel I expect a lot more. staff was not able to provide an invoice with the company name, required for reimbursement (business travel). you have to pay credit first to have something written to your room. a blockage on the credit card was not possible in order to have everything the the room invoice. Receipts where not provided for whatever you ate or drank. not worth the money we paid but is was close to the congress. '

'JW Marriott Cancun -- a top end property with endless pools, poolside bars, great food, and direct access to the white sand beach.
To give you an idea of how thorough the service is -- they employ a falconer to chase away other birds from the pool and beach area. I didn't see one seagull while there.
What I especially appreciate is that they don't nickel-and-dime for minor things. Even a basic room -- quite reasonably priced -- gets free water bottles and coffee replaced each day. The bars,...
