We have been going to PB for the last 8 years and have loved it every time. This trip was pretty disappointing. Upon arrival and check in we were put in bldg 20 and at that time there was no hot water. The hotel knew of the problem and made no mention upon checking in. I found this disturbing, particularly since we are VIP status and in general it was discourteous. It was especially bad because we didn’t know until coming back from the gym and needed a hot shower. We were told it was to be fixed that night and next am it wasn’t. We were relocated to building 18 which was nice until the hot water went out there on our last day and right after we returned from the spa and needed to wash the oil and lotion off.
The service levels have always been amazing at PB locations. This time those who were working f were terrific but it was clear that there has been a significant reduction in staff and given the hotel was pretty full, the service was not as it has been. Tables in restaurants were filled with dirty plates in the bistro and carts of dirty plates and serviceware sat next to the tables where they were seating people. It was not appetizing to say the least.
I’m not a complainer and usually don’t say anything. On more than a few occasions I overheard other guests commenting on the same things re service levels. This stay bothered me so much and was disappointing for our family. I think it’s likely it is our last stay at any Pueblo Bonito properties.
