An easy 15 minute drive to Blowing Rock, Lakeshore Retreat is a gorgeous home just a few yards from the lake in the beautiful gated community of Sweetgrass. With paved, flat parking, there is easy access to this four bedroom, three and a half bath home.
From the first step inside, you will fall in love with the view of the lake, lapping just a few yards away from the front deck. A large picture window means you can enjoy both the remote controlled gas-log fireplace, TV, and the ever-changing lake view with Grandfather Mountain behind it. Exposed distressed beams overhead evoke the mountain lodge style. The dining area easily seats 6, with room for several more at the island. In the kitchen, there is a coppered farmhouse style apron sink, live edge dark leathered granite, all stainless appliances including a gas range, a Keurig, and a standard coffee maker. Off of the kitchen is the laundry room with a sink for ease of cleaning up.
The Master King bedroom is off of the living room. It features deck access, the lake view, a Roku TV, and a private bath. In the ensuite bath, there is a custom tiled shower, a large soaking tub, and double vanities. The leathered granite at the vanities matches the counters in the kitchen. There is also a half bath off the entry hallway.
Upstairs is a second living area, great for families to unwind together. A large sectional invites you to sit and chat or watch a movie. A selection of board games are there for bonding on a quiet afternoon. Three bedrooms are upstairs. There is a second master with a California King bed, the lake view, a TV, and its own custom tiled bath. Two twin beds are in the third bedroom, which could also be put together for a king sized sleeping area. The fourth bedroom has a Queen bed along with a low profile twin over twin bunk bed. Between these two bedrooms is a third full bathroom.
Outside, you'll have plenty to do and see. The deck has plenty of seating for dining al fresco, a woodburning fireplace, and a new grill. The deck leads down to the lawn on the shores of the lake. There is a walking trail that circles the lake, as well as other trails within Sweetgrass. Hike to the other side of the lake and gaze upon Lakeshore Retreat from across the water while you enjoy a picnic at the gazebo on the dam or visit with others in the neighborhood by the community firepit.
ABOUT SWEETGRASS
Within the neighborhood is Boone Fork Creek, which winds through the middle of Sweetgrass and has been designated as a North Carolina Outstanding Trout Stream. Just a little ways up the road at the heart of SweetGrass is the 22-acre lake fed by Boone Fork Creek! Bring your own canoes/kayaks and paddles to enjoy this beautiful lake!

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Sweetgrass is an environmentally conscious community that observes a catch and release fishing policy to ensure a sustained fish population.
- The Sweetgrass neighborhood is a peaceful haven, and therefore does not permit firearm discharge, fireworks, golf carts, dirt bikes, four wheelers, loud music, or other objectionable noises that disrupts the quiet enjoyment of the natural environment. During quiet hours (10PM – 8AM), all outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum.
- Rental guests have access to the grounds around the lake house, all hiking trails, and may fish in the lake. Guests are not permitted inside the lake house or on its patio. ATVs are not permitted on the hiking trails.
- Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

- This home has one exterior Security Camera mounted by the front door monitoring the entryway. There are no additional cameras outside and none indoors.
CANCELLATION POLICY -
Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 59 days of the arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
