Oceanfront - Hot Tub - Newly Remodeled Cottage

Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family.

With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul.

The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below.

Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. There are activities nearby for everyone: Horseback riding on the beach, surfing at Salmon Creek Beach, pampering at the Osmosis Spa, hiking among ancient redwoods at Armstrong Grove, golfing at Bodega Harbour, abalone diving, kayaking and swimming on the Russian River, zip-lining at Occidental. Great view and location

This is one of the cleaner and prettiest places we have stayed in the area. The kitchen had all the things we needed for a home away from home. My only advice to those thinking of a stay is to bring eye masks for sleeping- there is a skylight right above the master bed and the sun rises early! Also, the bathroom sink is a bit of a challenge- very high with a very low ceiling. But for a few days it works.

Perfect Dose of Sunshine & Waves

My partner and I went up to get away and relax for a few days. Coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean in the morning, wine in the hot tub in the afternoon, and cuddles watching the sunset. Perfect way to spend each day.

Amazing Views!

My husband and I were excited to drive up to this enchanting little home. The beautiful gardens welcomed us to a cozy, clean home with beautiful views of the beach below. We enjoyed the evening sunsets in the large hot tub on the back deck. The bed was very comfortable, linens were quality and towels were plush. We will be back! A happy couple on a birthday getaway

Fantastic Time

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our time immensely. We loved watching the sunset from the hot tub. There were so many beaches close by to drive to, as well as the main town. Property was just as described and owner was quick to respond to any messages. My children also enjoyed the movie selection in the living room. We would definitely return!

Every year my sister's and I have a getaway weekend and this one was our very favorite stay ever!The home is so beautiful and welcoming. The pictures don't give the views justice, they are better than any other in the area.The hot tub was large and clean and with the giant deck, made for a great way for us all to pick our favorite spots.We will be renting this home here again, and again.

Snuggly little beach house

We came for my fiancés birthday and stayed 2 1/2 days. We spoke with the property manager right before our arrival. She was super helpful and courteous. When we came in the home we found it just perfect for the four of us. It was super clean and comfy. We strolled down to the beach several times throughout our stay, and With the hot tub on the deck overlooking the ocean it was a perfect relaxing little Birthday get away. The sunsets were the icing on the cake!

Peaceful and gorgeous

Overall we loved our stay here. The home is very comfortable and clean, the view is spectacular, and the area is an absolutely gorgeous place to vacation. It was everything we wanted. I commend the host for such comfortable bedding too. I will mention a few things for future renters to be aware of, and maybe a couple of suggestions for the host: we arrived to area later in the evening. All local grocery stores close at 7, so we couldn’t grab some essentials before heading to the house. We were devastated to learn upon arrival that there was no coffee. I’ve stayed in quite a few short term rentals and they ALWAYS have coffee. I’ve also come to expect a little basket of snacks. It’s just a nicety. Also, there is no cell service in this area. The check-in information didn’t warn us to pre-download a map and to have the check-in code available. The instructions DO SAY “write the code down” but not “write down the code, you won’t have cell service.” So I honestly didn’t put that together. Luckily I somehow managed to remember the code. There is no street lighting or outside lighting to the house, so parking was tricky (there’s a very narrow strip in front of the house for parking—no driveway). Once inside it was SO COLD. The heating system should be turned on before guests arrive. It took hours to warm up. The hot tub is very nice and we would’ve enjoyed it immensely, but this is an EXTREMELY windy location, so that impeded enjoyment somewhat. No beach access. And ants.

Small with a view.

Small side it is perfect for bringing a midsize Family total number four. You is amazing perfect while soaking in the hot tub, your view and sound of the ocean is exceptional. Using the TV was a bit frustrating as you have to use your own login information to stream Apps. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, which was helpful. Plenty of things to do around town, including beautiful walks on the beach. And I. Wood. And would return again.

Nice and quirky

The house location and view were fantastic. The appliances and sinks and faucets were all very nice. I have never encountered pop out electrical receptacles before. There are some low ceilings in the bathroom, kids bedroom and the television room. But these are easily managed. The morning of our 3rd day we had ants on the counter next to the sink. Interesting, because there was never any food there. But they were quickly dispatched. The hot tub was fantastic. What a view overlooking the beach. I will definitely be returning to this house for another stay.

Breathtaking

Foxkit cottage was very welcoming, relaxing, and perfectly curated to be both beautiful and comfortable. The hosts thought of everything that would be needed to make this little oasis a home away from home. Now, the total showstopper was having the majestic ocean as the backdrop to such a lovely home. We could not get enough of the sound of the crashing waves, and the hot tub…icing on the cake! We had an absolutely wonderful time connecting as a family. We definitely plan to book again.

The cottage itself was lovely, with breathtaking ocean views that made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The home was well-maintained, and we appreciated the serene setting.However, our experience with the host was disappointing. Prior to our stay, I asked about the type of coffee maker available and was told there was only a Mr. Coffee, yet we arrived to find a Keurig in the kitchen. A minor issue, but it set the tone for the lack of accurate communication.The biggest letdown was the hot tub on the deck. It didn’t work, and when we reached out to the host, she was unable to provide any assistance. After our stay, I also let her know about a leak we noticed, only to receive a dismissive response stating that the next tenant had no issues with the hot tub—despite the extremely short turnaround time between guests, which left me wondering about the thoroughness of the cleaning process.While the location and cottage itself were wonderful, the host’s responsiveness and accuracy in communication left much to be desired. If you’re looking for an stress-free experience with an attentive host, this may not be the best choice.
