Our family spent a wonderful week in the mountains here in Big Canoe. This âcabinâ was cozy, inviting, & comfortable. The views from the deck are amazing, and we enjoyed each morning , afternoon and evening sitting outside, listening to the nature around us. The master suite is unrivaled, and we utilized the sitting area in it a lot too, a perfect place to read and relax. There were a few minor issues we contacted the host with, and the communication was good. The house could use some updating here and there ( kitchen mostly), but it was functional. Downstair bedrooms are small, but again, functional. The loft is a great space, and we spent some time having pool tournaments,a nice added featureâŠ
We ate at the clubhouse for brunch on Sunday, and the buffet on Tuesday night. The seating on the veranda is wonderful with incredible views of Lake Sconti. We hiked up to Mt. Oglethorpe a few times ( great workout!), and were amazed at the history it holds. The hot tub was appreciated after hikes, and was very clean and spacious⊠it was serviced the day we checked in, so it gave us peace of mind for its cleanlinessâŠ(you may want to bring extra towels )âŠWe enjoyed several trips on the jeep trails within Big Canoe too, and would highly recommend it if you own a jeep. Again, so much history on the trail! And, we finally saw a bear on our last night! Another hilight was a day on the lake renting a pontoon boat. Everyone enjoyed it. The trip up to the top of the mountain is a bit precarious⊠but you get used to the drive after a few trips⊠(make sure your tires and brakes are in good condition.:) Would definitely love to come back to Big Canoe againâŠ
