The pros: Area is quiet & despite the lack of A/C, the house stays relatively cool in the heat of summer (thankfully, we found a fan in the closet). The backyard was a convenient place for the dog to do her business. The Bristlecone Trail is steps away, the Zoo is within walking distance & the burgeoning Moonridge Rd strip has food & drink options. Check-in was easy & host was communicative. The cons: the house could use some upgrades. It's clean but could use some love. The first light inside the home needs to be plugged into an extension cord, which we didn't know, so when we arrived at night, we had to fumble around with our flashlights for a bit to figure it out. There were other lights in the home that didn't have switches, only plugs, so it was a little odd. There were some door knob holes in the walls & some peeling paint, & the backdoor screen looked like it had been on the receiving end of a bear. One of the recliners was a tad ripped up & there are missing blind slats. The backyard was pretty overgrown, & did not look like the picture in the listing. Neither did the back porch, which no longer has a table & one of the chairs is broken. It just would be nice if the listing pictures were more accurate/recent, especially for the price. Lastly, there were no cleaning products, paper towels, or laundry supplies, which in a pet-friendly listing is a little hard to understand. Supplies aren't a given, but would be a nice courtesy.
