Cottages in Barnard Castle

'We had a lovely weekend at Ashlea. The cottage is well equiped & feels like a real home - very peaceful, great views & easy reach if Barnard Castle. Great walks from the doorstep. We were made so welcome by Ann, (loved the fresh baked bread & flowers). We will stay here again.'

'Very spacious well equipped cottage situated just off the main street of Barnard Castle right by the parish church. We were able to check in early, which was a big help, and when we arrived we delighted to see how spotlessly clean it was. The beds and furnishing were comfortable and would have no hesitation in reccommending the cottage to our friends and family'

'We went for a family stay and it did not disappoint! Warm cosy and we were welcomed with fresh bread and treats left for us. Karen came down to check everything was ok. They also cleared snow from the awning over the hot tub! Great hosts this is are 2nd visit as a family '

'It certainly has a wow factor with the tallest windows and ceilings I've seen in a small residential property. The fixtures, fittings and appliances are all high quality, (sadly lacking any manuals). Best to use what three words to locate it as the sat nav on postcode takes you to the wrong side of a wall, albeit very close to the front door. You do get some road noise from the main road due to the vented double glazing but this dies down at night so isn't an issue. All in all a great rental....

'Cute little cottage in a quiet little town, down a little side street away from the main road, suited our needs. We stayed n December so the cottage although small took a fair time to warm up , underfloor heating downstairs was nice but the fire needed to be on aswell to heat the cottage toa decent temp. I thought the heaters upstairs were too small to heat both the bedroom and the bathroom. Dogs are allowed in the property but not allowed on furniture, nice touch was a little basket with...
