Stacked apartment with 1 bedroom now air-conditioned (new since May 2023) in the historic center of Avignon, with a mix of contemporary & typical Provençal touches.
Located in a pedestrian street just 5 minutes walk from the Pope Palace. There is no car park in front of the building. Public car parks are at walking distance.
The apartment is located on the 4th floor without lift, which offers stunning views on the Pope Palace & the roofs.
Very Quiet.

The one bedroom apartment has just been renovated with a mix of contemporary and typically Provençal touches such as the exposed stone wall and the beams.

South Side

Spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen: Nespresso machine, induction hob, oven, coffee maker, freezer, washing machine.

North Side

The bedroom has its own airconditioning system (new since May 2023) with 1 bed 140cm. The room is north for more freshness and quiet courtyard. Views on the Pope Palace from the bed.
The bathroom has a large walk-in shower.

The apartment is north-south crossing with 4 windows and a roof window and is located above the other buildings, for natural ventilation and fresh air.

The apartment is located on the 4th floor (no lift), which offers stunning views.

Avignon's city center is encouraging smooth mobility: by bike or on foot, everything is easy and close! The apartment is located in a pedestrian street and cars do not have access to the the building but (at best) the nearby Place Carnot.
You are 12 minutes from Avignon center train station (on foot), 5 minutes from the covered car park of Les Halles or that of the Palais des Papes (paying) and 10 minutes from the Allées de l'Oulle car park (free with the app). for smartphone, from September to June).

This top floor apartment in old town Avignon was a true gem, a serendipituous find as we were first looking for hotel rooms. But this was so much better! What a view! Onto other roof tops and all the way to the Pope's Palace on one side and the Saint Pierre Church on the other - you are literally in the "Navel of the Pope - Le Nombril du Pape" as the owner call his place. We felt super comfortable, the interior design was outstanding! Everything felt just so! Perfect! We were there in March, and the Mistral blew hard, but the apartment kept us warm when we came back from our day trips with an efficient electric heating system. So many nice touches here: from the provided umbrella (which we did'nt need, but still), to the towel warmer in the bathroom, to the Nespresso coffee maker. There was also a washing machine which came in handy. Anyways, we had a wonderful time here, and recommend this place to anyone who can muster the 88 steps up to the fourth (or fifth?) floor!

GREAT location. Beautiful space; but not quite as clean as I would have liked (the bathroom). It was a bit warm, even with the A/C on. Bed was okay; but not particularly comfortable. I'm used to sleeping on a really nice mattress at home so I'm usually not impressed by beds except in the nicest 5 stars. Parking was not that convenient; but I think that is how it is in Avignon and was told prior to booking.

Awesome views

This apartment was perfectly located within Avignon to access shops and restaurants. It was clean and nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The washer with drying rack was a plus! With the windows open in the living room and bedroom made for a wonderful breeze throughout the apartment. Thomas, the host, made it very easy with instructions to access the apartment and well as great advice for parking . Communication with him was seamless. Very much appreciated! The steps up were challenging wit heavy luggage but once up it was fantastic and worth the effort! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! It was awesome!

Nicely Refurbished top floor apartment in the very center of the old city, very clean, updated amenities, more than enough room for 2. Heaven on the 4th floor

Stayed for a week in this wonderful apartment and loved every minute of it. The views almost make you want to stay in the apartment all day but then you would be missing out on exploring the very charming town of Avignon and several potential day trips. Everything was provided. There was a dresser in the bedroom for storing clothes and in which you would find extra towels and ample tp in bathroom. The kitchen is small but functional with good cookware. The other reviews tell you everything else you need to know. I rarely write reviews but this was one of my favorites. Book it I am sure you will agree.

Necessities lacking

This little place is a gem. We found it to be centrally located, yet out of the tourist commotion. MANY STEPS and no elevator, so difficult with our luggage. If we had been out of shape we wouldn’t have made it! Once in the apartment there was limited space for luggage. I kept mine on the kitchen floor. Our biggest challenge was the lack of towels! We were provided 1 bath towel each. There were no kitchen linens and we had a mad search for toilet paper which we did eventually find in the utility closet in the kitchen. We made due with paper towels. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable!

Great location in a great town

The apartement was great. There are 4 floors of stairs so this may not be appropriate for everyone. The view from the bedroom of the Papal csstle is extraordinary The view from the very comfortable living room on the other side over the roof tops is great. Great bed, good washing machine. The only little thing is that the greeting consisted of " Here arr your keys and you can climb up to the apartment and figure it out yourselfs"...which we did with no trouble. We wouls return to this property in a heart beat!!

Un spot à Avignon pendant le festival !

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le logement de Thomas. Confortable et calme (pour la chambre) et très bien placé. Grâce à la clim dans la chambre, le raffraichisseur et le ventilateur dans la pièce, on supporte les grosses chaleurs de l'été. Les échanges avec Thomas ont été parfaits. Il a aussi été flexible sur l'heure d'arrivée. Donc complètement satisfait!

A View Beyond Words

This beautiful apartment in Avignon is even better than advertised. It's spotlessly clean, impeccably decorated, and exudes a cozy ambience with its soothing natural lighting. The views from both the living room and bedroom windows are sublime -- the network of terracotta roof tiles that overlap along the horizon and adjoin with the ancient outline of the Palais de Papes combine for an absolutely extraordinary sight. We actually looked forward to making the climb each day to Thomas's extraordinary little nest!

Heavenly view!

Everything about my stay in Avignon was special. The apartment, location, and views are extraordinary. I spent 8 days there and wish it could have been longer. Because of its proximity to Nimes, Arles, Sete, and many small villages, I will make Avignon my home base next time. I can't say enough about the welcome I received from Thomas before my arrival and during my stay. He is quick to respond to questions. Also, Christine, who met me at the building entrance, was so helpful in making sure I knew how to operate the clothes washer and AC unit. Finally, I must mention the steps. Yes, there are a lot. However, the staircase is very wide and well lit. Once suitcases are in the apartment, the rest is very manageable. The incredible views of the gilded Madonna and the Palace of the Popes wouldn't be possible without being on the top floor. Well worth it!

Unforgettable Honeymoon

Thomas is very nice und professional. The appartment is located in the right centre of the city but u nearly don't hear any noise from the main routes. Service was perfect, sleeping room also has a mini-clima, festival was just a dream, we really recommend staying at this beautiful place.

Well worth the climb

I used this apartment for my home base for Avignon and parts of Provence for three weeks. I was genuinely sad when it came time to leave, having enjoyed the distant church bells, the swallows swirling about outside the windows and the gentille bustle of the street below. It was so comfortable, it started to feel like home! Ok, perhaps I won’t miss the climb, but once inside….I was home!
