Spacious with beautiful upper level views of Half Moon Bay!

Playa Blanca is best known for its two, third floor three bedroom units. These units are bright and spacious with beautiful views of Half Moon Bay and the Mexican Caribbean. Playa Blanca offers a great opportunity for a comfortable beach front vacation rental on Half Moon Bay. It is centrally located, within easy walking distance to Akumal's commercial center along Akumal Bay Beach, Yal-Ku Lagoon and several restaurants and services located nearby.

Each three bedroom unit offers guests a fully equipped kitchen, dining area which seats six or more, breakfast bar and living area, all with gorgeous views of Akumal's Half Moon Bay.

- The spacious master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and offers a large private bath with an oversized shower.

- The first guest bedroom is furnished with a double and a single bed.

- The third bedroom is also furnished with a king bed and a single trundle bed.

Each bedroom has its own private bath. The third bedroom in addition to having an interior door, also has its own private access increasing the privacy of guests.

Fresh ocean breezes are a constant in these upper level units. The large oceanside terrace is well furnished with table and chairs. This is great place to watch marine life, including sea turtles, parrot fish and eagle rays, feeding and at play in Half Moon Bay.

Beautiful views, great location, condo needs some TLC

We very much enjoyed our stay at this Half Moon Bay accommodation. Gorgeous ocean view, convenient walk to good restaurants and groceries, quick bike ride to town. The place was cleaned thoroughly daily and property manager Alex was very helpful. However, considering the price we paid, we were disappointed in the condition of some aspects of the condo. Some of the furnishings are aged and very uncomfortable (specifically in living room and on the balcony).The door lock needs replacing (deadbolt doesn't operate at all).

Beautiful location in Akumal

We enjoyed our stay in Akumal! The concierge services were very helpful in securing bikes during our stay. We appreciated daily room cleaning and access to the kitchen on site. The balcony is also beautiful to relax and listen to waves. The bedrooms did not meet our expectations unfortunately. Two of the bedrooms had direct bright light coming from the exterior hallway which shown directly into the rooms without darkening curtains. The sounds of the AC were also very loud, unfortunately we are light sleepers so this kept us awake. The way the complex is designed there are two other rooms across the hallway, and whenever a different guest would leave their room, there was a very loud door slamming sound which carries very easily into the unit. The kitchen fan was also broken, and there is no air conditioning in the main part of the unit outside bedrooms, so the mornings would be very warm and stuffy. Overall our day was pleasant, but I would not come back.

Nice condo

The condo was clean. The maid service was excellent. We had a door knob quit working and someone came and fixed it quickly. The condo does need updating with paint, and just to let general spruce up. The beds were excellent patio furniture is very dated. Overall, I would come back, but would hope that the owner puts a little time and money into the condo.

Great Place for a Family Retreat

What a great place! Top floor (3rd) with a great view of the beach, surf and palm trees blowing in the wind. Pleasantly furnished throughout, with plenty of space for a comfortable stay. There were seven of us gathered for a family retreat including a lively one year old. It was a perfect location for our gathering. Condo is very convenient to restaurants and other activities. We have rented different places in Akumal over the years. This has been my favorite.

No control over nature...

Very roomie deck & living space. Awesome & immediate conversation with the hosts. Pictures for the secondary bedrooms confusing...as they showed additional beds which would be extremely tight & squishy if the trundle or single were in fact required. Emergency number ...the gentleman was not courteous. The drop box was already open with the code, upon our arrival. Romy (not sure of spelling), but the room artendant was awesome! It would be great to have a drying rack on the balcony for beach towels & swimwear. All in all...comfortable stay & quiet, peaceful area.

We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful condo with a breathtaking view of Half Moon Bay. The rooms were airy and the glass windows bringing in the sea breeze was so relaxing! I loved the security provided for all of the condominiums along our stretch. The locals were wonder as well! I, personally, apologize for it not being as clean as I would have liked, but the three others in our party needed to get back. There were tons of great reading options to choose from while lounging on the patio or down on the beach! Thank you again for being such wonderful hosts and we look forward to staying in the future!

it was a nice time. walking up stairs to the third floor was a nice work out! A great view up there. The staff was great. The 2 restaurants in the bay were also good. the third room in 7 has a double bed, not a queen. It worked ok for us!

Beautiful, Safe and Wonderful!

We loved the feeling and relaxed vibe at Half Moon Bay in Akumal. We could walk to many great restaurants, a small market across the street and our favorite little cafe The Jungle Cafe!! We walked to the Yal Ku Lagoon for snorkeling and had such a relaxing time on the beach. There was some Grass/seaweed that kept blowing in on the beach and it was quite windy but most days we could still swim at the beach. A couple days the surf was just too rough. But we had a lovely time soaking up the sun and reading, relaxing, and swimming/snorkeling.

The condo was beautiful!!

The condo was beautiful, we had everything we needed with high end dishes and utensils. There were many restaurant within walking distance, we loved the Bakery Cafe! The beach was a little disappointing, we expected some rocks eventually leading to sand but the beaches were all rocks. It was difficult to get in the ocean when the water was rough, water shoes are a must!! We went able to snorkel off our beach until the last day, others said the snorkeling was good off shore. Yak-Kul was great for snorkeling. My first thought was that we’d probably never go back to Akumal but if the water would have been calm we’d have snorkeled off our beach. We loved Akumal! We were so glad to be away from all the tourists and tourism that other areas of Mexico has.

Beautiful place in Akumal!

LaSirena 13 is a beautiful retreat in Akumal. On the North end of Half Moon Bay, it is a quiet and serene condo, decorated in a traditional Mexican style. The private balcony off the master has a beautiful view of the courtyard (that is stunning). And the back-facing balcony provides beautiful views of the Bay all day long. A couple things to note: the living area seating is not very comfortable - the “sofas” are cement benches with thin cushions, so bring some blankets, and Unit 13 is a third floor walk-up, so be mindful if you have trouble with stairs. Finally, you can walk right out back to snorkel in the Bay, where we saw a variety of tropical fish and rays. Overall, Sirena 13 is a quaint retreat in an equally charming, friendly town. We’ll be back!

Akumal adventure

Our stay was wonderful! The property was perfect for my family of 4. There was plenty of space, it was very clean and comfortable, and toots of kitchen gear. Drinking water was available. The housekeeper checked in each day to see if we needed anything, and the property manager was easy to reach. The WiFi also worked great during our stay. Thank you, Playa Blanca! We would love to return in the future!

Mixed experience - spotty communication and some issues with the property.

Stuff you want to know: huge grocery/ discount store 10 min north (Chedraui - Puerto Aventuras), bring lots of US cash since we never figured out the ATMs which take a huge ~10% fee; OXXO is like a 7/11 that's open 24 hours < 1 mile away and has beer; we enjoyed our meal at La Lunita but you need reservations; we enjoyed several meals especially breakfast at Turtle Bay

We had a late check in, went seamlessly w/ the property manager (he even helped us unload our luggage & groceries.) The space is clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, house keeping staff was wonderful. Each bedroom had an a/c unit making the warmer nights more comfortable. Overall, a great stay!

We had the best time in Akumal and really enjoyed our stay at Playa Blanca. The place was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for a group of 7 people. The location was perfect, check-in/out was seamless, all staff were friendly, and communication was great. Highly recommend this place others-we’ll be back!

Playa Blanca #7 is a charming 3-bedroom condo overlooking Akumal's Half Moon Bay. It comes with daily maid service and is located in Akumal Norte which is quiet and pretty and NOTHING like Cancun. Half Moon Bay is rocky but has good snorkeling when the water is calm (not winter, perhaps?). It's walkable to 3 Akumal Norte restaurants easily and the main Akumal restaurants in about 15-20 minutes. The apartment is clean and has the best-equipped kitchen I've ever had in a rental. The only thing I'd change is the large number of Mexican sculptures and art doo dads that bedeck most of the flat surfaces (including the shower niches and bathroom counter). We were constantly worried we'd break something. In all, we loved it and would definitely come back.
