Hôtel près de Whistling Cay (St. John)

« Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. »

« What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views. The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful! We are planning to return in 2027! »

Le restaurant était fermé en raison d’une tempête tropical le mois dernier mais le resto Sib’s pas très loin était parfait et peu dispendieux et prisé des locaux. Belle piscine ensoleillée. »

My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! »

« The room is okay for the price. The floor is very dirty, so I wore my slip on sandals when I was in the room. You have to pay extra money if you want your room cleaned and plan on doing a lot of walking and steps if you stay here. »

« No elevator, so climbing stairs up 3 floors with suitcases was rough. The room was in need of repairs. A recent water main break had the shower water coming out rusty. The only positives were the location and the pleasantness of the staff. »
