'Staff were very friendly and helpful, comfy bed, lovely hot powerful shower! Great food and beer, really enjoyed my stay!'

'Lovely place. This is a rustic place in the middle of nowhere and is fantastic! Worth all the travel. Staff were amazing. Food was superb. I had the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef bourginon. My room was lovely and the bed comfortable. A very welcoming place even for a single traveller like me. I’m definitely going back at some point! Brilliant'

'Food was exceptionally good with great choice. Staff pleasant and helpful.'

'Beautifully decorated hotel with excellent food and helpful pleasant staff.'

'This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. 'Unique oldish hotel, but lovely'

' niet makkelijk te vinden.was nog een heel gedoe.'

'We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!'

'We just loved our stay here at Augill Castle. It was like being in a movie. Quirky and charming, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed wine in the sitting room, a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room was so beautiful, a very comfortable bed, and the hosts and staff were all so lovely. A very memorable stay!'

'Hotel is prima om op doorreis te gaan. 20 minuten rijden naar Kendal. Bij hotel alleen mc Donalds in de avond. Wegwerkzaamheden waardoor we om 22.00 al terug in hotel moesten zijn. 1 bed niet opgemaakt bij aankomst. Om langer. Dan 1 nacht te verblijven raden wij niet aan. Hotel heeft uitzicht op meer, maar aan de andere kant ligt deze aan parkeerterrein snelweg'

'This has to be the craziest room I've ever stayed in, in a good way. The floors were sloped the furniture was sloping in line with the floors. Bed comfy amd bathroom was nice and clean. If you are after a quirky stay then this place is for you.'

'Clean airy room .. Friendly staff . Lovely stay . Very happy thank you .'
