Residenties in Val-Thorens

'I was there in the final week of the season, with the Residence mostly full, the hotel section closed, and minimal staff (Pierre really was our knight in shining armour), but the experience was still excellent. We were looked after extremely well, and the room, facilities, and pastry deliveries were all first class. Highly recommended!'

'Good value get what you pay for. Too many stairs without a lift difficult with suitcases and skis and high altitude!! Not exactly ski out. Close to night life but not noisy. Sewerage smell coming from drains in showers.'

'A well appointed apartment, in what appears to be a relatively newly built or refurbished block. Underfloor heating, nice bathrooms and furnishings, flatscreen tv's and a good kitchen. There is a nice pool & spa in the complex, and the boot room has heaters for boots and gloves. It is also genuinely a ski-in, ski-out boot room - although is slightly more painful if you need to get to childrens ski school which are up the hill, making it way, way quicker to actually march up the road instead and...

'Net appartement, voor 4 personen geschikt (4 aparte bedden). Appartement was van alle gemakken voorzien (vaatwasser, oven, magnetron, stofzuiger, goede uitzet [zelfs Tefal pannen], stofzuiger. Het zag er allemaal netjes uit, zelfs in de laatste week van het seizoen! Ligging was prima: direct vanuit de skikelder de piste op. Lockers in de kelder waren voorzien van verwamingselementen voor de skischoenen.'

'Great location and able to ski to slopes with young children. Ski hire and shops within complex. Lockers on same floor making it a lot easier to get ready in the morning. Apartment had everything we needed for the week. Will return.'

'I travelled to the Tourotel expecting the worst given a lot of the reviews, and was pleasantly surprised and can only suggest those giving such poor reviews haven't stayed in ski accommodation before or hadn't looked at any of the photos. Yes it's basic (as are most ski accommodations), but they are well equipped (I've attached the inventory of the 2 bed apartment), and the mountain facing balcony rooms have the best view of any accommodation I've stayed in the alps. They were surprised we didn't travel with towels (apparently this is a think in Europe). They charged us 18 Euros for one towel that we then had to share between 4 people for the week. There is no pool and it's 10 euros to use the spa one time. The keys don't work if another key is in the lock (another thing that must be common). One of our roommates had to sleep in...

'We stayed on the Pichu wing. Everything was ok. You have to buy your own toilet paper, trash bags ect, which I felt was strange. The kitchen was fully equipped and had a toaster, stove top and microwave. We did cook a full meal one night for fun. The on-site restaurants are not worth it. Go try the other places, and if you take the free shuttle you can go a bit further down the mountain for more choices. To address the bathroom door I read so much about. 'Très bon séjour, l’appartement est bien situer autour des commerces, des pistes ect… Excellente communication avec le propriétaire est très attentionnée et agréable. Avec mon conjoint nous recommandons ce logement pour passer un beau séjour!'

'Ruim appartement met goede faciliteiten, WiFi, uitzicht op de pistes en de liften. Wij waren met vier volwassenen en zes kinderen. Bagage laden en lossen vanuit de auto is wel eindje lopen door het complex. De skilockers zijn vlakbij het appartement en vanuit daar ski je zo de piste op. Terugweg moet je via andere ingang en is iets verder lopen maar helemaal prima. Al met al heel fijn gehad in Val Thorens!'
