'Great location for the hotel to see both the Shinhotaka ropeway and the Kamikochi park. Inside it was clean, quiet and, of course, great private onsens. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. Water was very hot, but relaxing. Will definitely book again if we're back here'

'Typical Japanese ryokan with great wellness facility. Rooms are spacious but simple and no tv. You shouldn’t mind sleeping on the floor but mattress is fine'

'Okada is a pretty big ryokan in Hirayu onsen area. Perfect for visiting Kamikochi in the summer. Rooms are of good size with a nice balcony/sitting area. The biggest plus of the ryokan is the beatiful onsen with multiple baths. Drawbacks were that our room didn’t have AC, only a fan, while it was very hot. The futons were pretty hard.'

'We stayed at this ryokan for 3 nights and we loved it there! It is family driven and has such a lovely and local feeling. Our room was big, authentic and had a really nice onsen. We received the best breakfast every morning, it was the best we ever had. We also had dinner there 1 night, and it was such an experience. Everything tasted amazing and we loved that the ingredients was local and in season. We also got help for activities. '

'Okuhida Hot Spring Hirayukan is conveniently located, just a short and easy walk from the Hirayu Onsen bus terminal. A small shop beside the ryokan sells snacks and drinks, which is useful especially in the quieter evenings. Check in was smooth and the ryokan already had our Expedia reservations. 'We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones.
