Dear Soya Qian, First of all, the construction next door has NEVER started before 8 am on ANY morning!! Furthermore, the noise from our neighbors is entirely OUT of OUR HANDS ... regretfully! Secondly, if you look at any of our reviews regarding our Cleanliness, you will find that we have a VERY high ranking. Thirdly, the ONLY mess in your original room was regretfully left by you and your partner: you used the Beach Towels, you used the hand soap, and you "tried out" the bed ... so the things you may be implying as "unclean" were actually from your initial use of the room!! Furthermore, NO ONE was in your original room after you insisted upon moving to another room - as Housekeeping had already left for the day: that is, until 11:30 pm that night when we moved you back to that room - due to a faulty AC unit. Contrary to anything you have said, we standby and pride ourselves in our standard of Cleanliness, as well as in our Friendly, Courteous and Accommodating Staff ... regardless of the hour of service.

Dear guests: We feel so embarrassed about what happened during your stay with us, unfortunately we were just going through some changes in our system that affect our communication. We appreciate your comments, we were working hard to improve our services and we are now ready to receive our guests without those issues. Seaweed was affecting the whole area weeks ago, right now we just have a beautiful clean beach with blue water :) Sorry, we tried to do our best for you and we were just trying to make you feel comfy at Keniza. We kindly offered you an upgrade and we paid the tranportation's difference. Please next time that you visit Tulum, don´t hesitate to come back and stay with us! Yes there was still some on-going construction that should have been finished over a month ago ... but what we sometimes plan and what actually happens can be worlds apart - and beyond our control. We have heard a lot about people wishing we still offered breakfast. Perhaps that is something that will be looked at again in the future. And yes, the hotel is undergoing some construction upgrades ... that should have been finished over a month ago, but sometimes things don't go according to plan. Regarding the breakfast: you were notified of that back in Sept/Oct (via Expedia Partner platform) - but it appears the email was never read. And, as a matter of fact, that specific platform is our only way to reach out to our upcoming guests who book thru Hotels.com Again, we regret the temporary short-comings but were glad that you found Lolita to be there for you: she definitely is a "breath of fresh air". Unfortunately, the combined work projects will not result in “all day A/C use”; instead they will guarantee that there will be more than adequate A/C output in each of our rooms during the posted times of operation. We are also pleased with the fine job that Lolita has been doing in interacting with our guests. It is always comforting when there is someone close at hand to answer questions and concerns, as well as recommending outside activities to enhance the overall experience in and around the Tulum area. Dear Kelly, First of all, thank you for choosing Kiras and thank you for your review and comments. Yes, we know the hotel was extremely quiet; but then again, it IS the low season and even the surrounding hotels are entertaining fewer guests at this time. However, regarding the "no breakfast”, we are confused by your comment. Contrary to what you wrote, we did in fact send you an email 5 days prior to your arrival (via Expedia Partners) advising that breakfast would no longer be available. In addition, we told you that we reduced the already discounted price of your 4-day stay because of the “no breakfast”. Furthermore, upon your arrival, we upgraded your garden-view room to our deluxe ocean-view suite. Now, regarding a “rarely-manned” Reception office: our Supervisor/Receptionist was on-site during the regular Reception office hours, though not necessarily IN the office - as her duties also demand time out-of-the office. Nonetheless, during your stay, she did her best daily to make you feel welcomed, offering suggestions on things to see and do, etc. So, despite the “rarely manned” reception, compounded with the fact that you were our only guests at the time, we do hope your needs were met and that you enjoyed your stay.
