We loved the location and easy access to the beaches, Redwoods, and local towns. The living area and kitchen area were very welcoming and we hung out there quite a bit. Sat in the couch and just looked out the window at the beach many times. The residence was clean but it did smell a little musty when we first arrived but it eventually subsided. Did have some ant issues near the kitchen and must have been ongoing as their were ant traps. We notified the cleaning lady (who showed up promptly at 10:00 AM but was very generous as we were running about 15 minutes behind). The TV was a little ways away from the couch BUT given the few minor things, we would definitely stay again and may look to book in the future. Made us re-think our own living situation as we loved the natural light and could use to downsize based upon our experience here.

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was spotless and very well cared for. The beds were incredibly comfortable — we all slept so well. It truly had everything we needed and felt like a home away from home. The view of Moonstone Beach was absolutely beautiful and made our mornings and evenings extra special. Great restaurant just below. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on the coast!

Great stay!

This place was great to stay at and is in a good location for several nearby trails that lead to beautiful views. The restaurants nearby were delicious as well. This place had everything we needed and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. It was also very clean.

Gorgeous views, great location

This place checked every box for us: sweeping views, SO close to beach, convenient location between Arcata and Trinidad, beautiful landscaping, soothing decor and wall art, comfy mattresses w soft linens and a variety of pillow types, lots of closet storage, modern appliances, good hot water/pressure, comfy sofa, with plenty of seating for us and our daughter's college friends. Bonus: dark bedrooms for sleeping in! Road noise did not bother us. No ants. No problem finding the place. Easy check in/out. Great communication. Extra bonus: loved having Moonstone Grill nearby for happy hour!Minor cons: Beds lack headboards, which I found uncomfortable when wanting to sit up in bed. Parking was bit inconvenient during loading/unloading as it is not close to the front door. TV is far from sofa and glare is a problem (as is a sense of evening privacy) due to lack of curtains. But who could cover up that view?!

Fantastic Redwoods Retreat!

So happy with this stay. Planned a trip to the Redwoods and this was a fantastic home base. Short trips to many trailheads, Trinidad’s downtown is so cute to grab necessities, coffee, sandwiches, etc. and Moonstone Grill down the street (1 min drive) is a great spot for dinner. The house was very clean, comfy couch, and so much natural light! Would absolutely recommend.

Great location!

We arrived after dark & it was raining so could not locate property. Also, had no phone reception. Could not access info regarding property. Recommend you print specifics on access which I failed to do. When we returned the following day it was easy to locate & I had written down the details so easy to access. This property had a beautiful view of the ocean! It was well furnished & the kitchen had everything you needed. Recommend adding small tables with lamps by couch as overhead lights are very bright. Also, recommend that the binder in the home include specifics for accessing the TV. I would highly recommend this property!!

Great getaway

Really lovely location close to the beach and lovely views. Lots of windows and natural light. The tv is so far from the couch though haha just be prepared for a small viewing experience. But it is a smart tv so that was very nice. Perfect for a girls trip :)

Saved our vacation

After driving 11 hours roundtrip to see the old growth redwood forests and northern California coastline, to our chagrin, we found the forest hiking trails closed due to excessive rain and the beaches inaccessible due to giant swells. Instead, we dined at various restaurants, went to the zoo, and spent the majority of our time at this excellent rental playing Dominoes, Jenga, and various board games we brought. I had an excellent time bonding with my 11 year old granddaughter,, my daughter, and son-in-law. It helps greatly that the rental was very clean and well appointed. I would like to stay here again when we return during the summer.

Family trip

My family and I were very happy with staying here. The house was spacious, comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. The kitchen had all you needed for eating in, which we cooked most of our meals. Communicating with the owners was very easy. We spent time at Moonstone beach collecting sand dollars. Drove the short drive up in to the Redwood national park. Sunsets at Honda Point were amazing! Would definitely come back!

Very Enjoyable Stay

Beautiful, spacious living/dining room/kitchen with fabulous views. Kitchen was super well equipped. Lovely neighborhood. TV was too far from the couches. No DVD player. We had a great time!

Nice property

The house was spacious and comfortable. Access to the home was very easy. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Great location for visiting the state parks. However I experienced a serious problem with ants. The property managers were very responsive by providing ant traps and spray. But I believe the property would benefit greatly from a professional pest control service especially with the damp climate. I never did figure out where they were coming from. While my problem involved hundreds of ants on the kitchen island and surrounding floor and walls (note: I had no food in the kitchen), I also noticed an ant trap in the bathroom. The property manager was also very quick to respond when the battery in the tv remote needed replacing. .

First time in California

This was our first experience with the great state of California and it was very memorable. The beach was a 2 minute drive and GORGEOUS. The house was just what we needed. It was a little hard to find the first time. A picture from Google Maps with arrows showing the easiest path to the front of the garage would be a welcomed addition to the email directions after booking. The location is ideal. Driving distance to many attractions and you can be home for a hot shower and bed! Loved the trip and how quiet the neighborhood was!

Great family trip!

We loved being so close to the ocean. Hearing the waves crashing from the house was really nice. We also loved the two minute drive to the beach. We tried walking but sadly realized we weren't in the right shape to make that climb back up the hill :) Driving was perfect! We were even able to star gaze from the bedroom balcony. The location to the small community of Trinidad was nice. There was a grocery store, convenient store, restaurants, and a couple of shops. Everyone was very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and the house was wonderful!

Great Views!

My wife and I had a wonderful time of doing nothing except mostly staring at the view. It was an easy walk to the beach, and close to McKinleyville for shopping.

Amazing View - Short walk to the beach!

The back bedroom has a treehouse feel there are so many trees surrounding it. The views looks south down Clam Beach to the Lost Coast when it is clear. Watching the tide change the height of Little River is fun. We had some friends up on the first night and the kitchen was great for hosting people, making drinks, and putting out food. We'd stay here again!

We had a comfortable stay in the unit. We were surprised by the limited kitchen items as well as the condition of the beds and bedding. The bedrooms could use updating and more blankets. The deck and deck furniture were not inviting.
