'I found this property when we had to move out earlier than planed for renovation works to our house. On arrival we were all stunned at the beauty on the gardens , the wild life, the fact we appear to be the only guests. Staff were amazing as i had 1 night were we had no where to staff, and staff were able to accommodate us. If you are looking for peace tranquillity i would highly recommend this place. 'This is a fantastic cottage in an adorable village. It has rolling hills, a burn and lots of sheep! The cottage itself was quite large and was fit for our family of 6, including adult children and their spouses. It was clean, decorated well and rather comfortable. There are amenities within walking distance such as a pub, museum, etc. We wished we had stayed longer and we'll definitely return!'

'The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. A minor niggle, but it was a bit cluttered with cushions and throws in the sitting room - the throws just slid off the leather sofas and the cushions were too big and too many, so were surplus to requirements. The location suited us very well, with a host of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful break and can recommend!'

'Een heel mooi, superruim huis, van buiten ziet het er misschien niet zo ruim uit maar dat is bedrog. Huis van een echtpaar dat met liefde geschikt is gemaakt en wordt gehouden voor gasten. Je hebt geen direct contact met de eigenaren maar wel telefonisch en eventueel via een sms. De woning is superkompleet, er is echt alles, ook de keuken is helemaal kompleet. Het huis ligt tegen The Galloway National Park aan, ook een bijzonder mooi en heel uitgestrekt gebied. Het is een heel mooie uitvalsbasis...

'Warm and cozy sleeping with the shutters and curtains drawn. Respect the house, switch on the pump if you light the fire, and yes I loved the wood smoke smells, it is mostly round the fire, if the fire is only embers you can switch off the pump, it's circulating the hot water from the fire, I was able to see local interests and the wonderful fresh air, excellent countryside. The ruin of Carmicheal House makes me wonder at its one time beauty, and it's just a short walk to from the cottage,...

'Had a brilliant time. Weather & location were just perfect. Lodge was equipped with everything you needed. They had thought of everything. Nigel was so welcoming. Have already passed the details onto friends and will certainly be back. The hot tub was the added bonus.'
