The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets were noisy when you would move, and the pillows were too firm with no other pillow options avalible.

We enjoyed our stay here. The property is fairly new and in fantastic condition. The front desk attendant was super nice and welcoming. There are lots of dining and shopping options within a 3-5 minute walk. I did wish there was a microwave on site to nuke food but with UberEATS and the restaurants in the area, it wasn't a biggie.

On a month long road trip of NZ this was undoubtedly the best motel we stayed in. It does not appear to have been open very long consequently all footings are in excellent condition. Fairly central so lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Can’t recommend highly enough and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

New hotel, state of the art, very nice amenities, clean, lovely linens, good bed. Walkable to restaurants. Our disappointment was that we booked an Executive King Suite and were given a Queen mini room, a fact only admitted to after we were in the room and inquired. Since the hotel was fully booked, we had no choice but to accept the room. The room and bathroom were so small that only one of the two of us could move at the same time.The proprietor offered a free coffee and refunded NZ$40. We understand that mistakes happen, but we paid too much for what we got. We recommend the hotel because it is lovely and extremely well done. Had it not been for this, we would have given five stars even though the hotel lacks a lift. Strongly suggest guests confirm directly with the hotel to ensure they get the accommodation they booked.

Disappointing room
We booked have room. Whilst a lovely room it was extremely small with nowhere to put your luggage. Only 1 desk chair in room so had no choice but to sit on bed. Bathroom was also very small. We were on the 1st floor so no lift and supposedly the shower was roll in but you wouldn't have fitted a wheelchair in the bathroom let a lone the shower. Also supposed to be a separate bedroom. Well yes separate from bathroom. Disappointed in the room size and stairs but otherwise a good location.

Fantastic accomodation! Less than 1 year old, Modern decor, GREAT lighting in room and bathroom, carpet was plush and felt brand new, nicely decorated room with soft throw blanket, spacious bathroom with fantastic soap, shampoos, etc. and variety of coffee and tea in-house preparations in the room! Well done!!

A fantastic find in the heart of Tauranga!
I had a fantastic experience at Cityside Hotel in Tauranga. The location couldn't have been better – right in the heart of the city. The rooms were not only clean but also freshly renovated with tasteful decor, making for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The on-site parking and electric vehicle charging options were a great convenience. What truly stood out were the small details in the room, like having milk in the fridge and a fantastic coffee machine. It felt like a home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I will definitely recommend this hotel to any friends looking for a place to stay in Tauranga. Hope to come and stay again in the future.

Lovely hotel with new and modern facilities in a good location. Also spacious and clean rooms with a nice view! The bathroom was a bit small for the size of the room (executive room). However would definitely rebook if we’re in Tauranga again!
