« A unique and quaint property. Owners have a long history with owning the beautiful lodge. Perfect for what we needed (1 might stop over). Would love to go back once fully renovated as a wedding venue. It has so much potential and I wish them all the best. Quirky fact - Charles Dickens stayed here back in his heyday! »

« Arrived late and left early, so really only slept there but had a very good nights sleep. We were welcomed, the room was lovely and clean, and quiet, and the bed very comfortable. It’s a shame we didn’t have a chance to experience the facilities, but perhaps next time when we have more time. »

« Lovely little guest house with the restaurant below it. The person at the checkout was welcoming and friendly, he brought my luggage up for me to my room which is really helpful because there's no lift, only stairs. Food was delicious (Asian-approved spiciness) and staff was nice. On the Sat evening when I was there , there had been a live band playing outside the restaurant area, they had a stage for live performances. Lovely atmosphere with good food and music. « Emplacement : Environnement calme. Le stationnement y est simple (dans la rue de l'hôtel). Bon choix de restaurants à proximité. Hôtel : Personnel très accueillant. Pièces d'eau comprenant à la fois WC et Douche, pouvant être difficile à gérer si l'hôtel est rempli. Mais lors de notre séjour, il n'y avait que 2 ou 3 personnes, donc pas de problème pour nous. Propreté des chambre, correcte sans plus. »

« Accommodation was great, clean and newly refurbished with spacious room and good shared kitchen/laundry facilities. Shortage of forks/mugs however in kitchen. Good location near university with lots of nearby buses and train to centre. Accommodation could do better with recycling though and communal lights left on 24 hrs etc. HOWEVER I extended my stay and was NOT given the new door code so was forced to wait for more than 2 hours outside until the ‘emergency’ phone number picked up.
