Two Kings, Hiking, Wineries, Hanging Rock State Park

We are delighted to welcome you to our peaceful, vacation home in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia! We fell in love with this area when we moved here in 2005 and are delighted to be able to share our second home with you. Our goal is simple: provide clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations so that you, our guests, will feel at home and enjoy your time in Patrick County, VA. Our motto is to treat our guests as we ourselves would want to be treated!

You will have the 1600 square foot essential living space to yourself. All of the guest accommodations are on one level with a loft.

Enjoy high-speed, fiber optic internet while staying at the Chalet. 300 mbps! Watch movies, play games or work as needed. YouTube TV available for watching your favorite sports team or Hallmark movie or you can sign into your own apps from home.

There is a master bedroom and full bathroom with glass-door shower only on one side of the house. The master has a king bed and french doors to the back patio area. There is a wall mounted TV in here as well.

There are two bedrooms (one king and one queen) that share a full bath on the opposite side of the house. This bath has a whirlpool tub and shower.
The king bedroom has a smart Roku television.

You will find comfortable living quarters in the middle of the house. The den is furnished with leather furniture and has a smart 4K 70” TV.

The kitchen has much of the equipment needed to prepare meals. We love to cook ourselves and have tried to stock our home-away-from-home kitchen with all we need to prepare full meals while on vacation. The dining room has a table with seating for 8. There are four bar stools in the kitchen for quick lunches at the kitchen counter.

A small carpeted loft is available for anyone who needs a desk to work or just wants a quiet space to read, study and enjoy the beautiful wooded view. You might spot a pileated woodpecker working the trees if you listen closely for him.

There is a back patio area with guest seating, a grill and fire pit. So bring your steaks and enjoy cool evenings underneath the stars.

The house is relatively secluded but just a mile outside of the town of Stuart, VA - a quaint town with much charm. A grocery store, gas stations and restaurants are within five - ten minutes of the house.

Policies:
This is a no-smoking property! Absolutely, no smoking (cigarettes, pipes, marijuana) or vaping inside our house or outside on our property. Fees for disregarding this policy are up to $500 per stay.

No unregistered guests on property without prior consent by property owner. Absolutely no parties, reunions, events with more than eight people. You may be asked to leave for violation of this rule.

Pets:
We welcome a well-behaved dog under 25 lbs. with Advanced notice and for an additional fee of $125 to cover the extra cleaning. Higher fees will apply for stays over a week. Please inform us of size and breed prior to booking. Additional fees will be charged to repair damaged furniture/doors and to clean any furniture/bedding that has pet hair/smells.
- We do not permit our dog on the furniture or in the beds and ask that your fur baby follow the same rule. Leather furniture and pet nails are not a good combination.
- Don’t leave your unattended dog to wander in the house. We have a crate you can use. Just let us know when booking your reservation and we'll have it set up for you.
- There is a pooper scooper outside outside on the corner of the house on the back patio.

Kitchen:
- Complimentary drinks are in the fridge for your enjoyment.
- The pots & pans are to the left of the stove in the 2nd & 3rd drawers. Please do not use metal utensils in them.
- Seasonings, oil, etc. for cooking is to the right of the stove in the top cabinet.
- Food storage containers are to the right of the stove in the bottom cabinet.

Hiking: lookup alltrails on the web and search “Stuart VA” unable to link websites on listing.
Also look up NC Mayo River State Park. 30 minutes from house. Big wide river with 3 public beaches and a shady peaceful waterfall perfect for big and little kids. Easy 3 minute walk to waterfall from car.

At least four Wineries in the 30 minute area, Chateau Morrisette, Villa Appalachia, Stanburn and Old North State.
