Spacious stay that is conveniently located, a short walk to a ski lift! We loved gathering around the huge dining table, warming up by the fire, and winding down in the hot tub. Thank you for having us!

Exceptional

The location was perfect for us. Away from the busy downtown area and close to the resorts. We like to cook in and the kitchen was well supplied. This was one of the best VRBO’s I’ve stayed in.

Wonderful rustic home

Long ski weekend at a location that was perfect for our group: plenty of space to relax, a nice big kitchen that was very well stocked, fun bar area complete with a nice mix of glasses and a game room. Fireplace was amazing. Location was close to the mountain and the hot tub was bonus. Would definitely come back!

great ski house!

Very comfortable, amazing location. I wish they had a lockbox for picking up and returning the keys, but the current process was clearly explained before booking, so I’m still sending 5 stars!!

Family Christmas

Our group had 4 generations on this trip and it could not have been more amazing! The location is perfect with walking distance to the Tollhouse lift and an easy and convenient shuttle up the mountain. The village of Stowe is a picture-perfect New England town and made for an incredible backdrop for Christmas shopping! The house was everything we had hoped for, and we'll definitely be returning!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house is very nice and in a great location! We stayed with our 2 kids and another family of 4 and it was the perfect size. The kids loved the hot tub! However, we did notice an odd gas/sulfur smell in the back of the house, which ended up not allowing us to use one of the rooms. The host was helpful when we reached out, and sent over a couple people to make sure we didn't have a gas leak. The owner said this happened before and is due to the gas company filling the tank to the top. Besides this, it would be a 5-star stay! Still a solid choice for a weekend getaway.

Cozy and welcoming

House was great! Location is awesome near the mountain as well as across from another chairlift (if open). The house is well-equipped and the team is very quick to support with any issues. Enjoyed the hot tub and the comfortable bedding. There with our teen son and daughter and enjoyed the Ping Pong table alot. Everything worked out awesome and we'd do it again!

Fabulous spot

We had a wonderful winter getaway at this house. We were close to the slopes and Toll House lift (although it is a difficult five minute walk as you have to cross a busy street on a curve up the crest of a hill. We chose to drive the short distance to be dropped off). We enjoyed sledding and the hot tub and the lovely fireplace. Stores and restaurants were also close.

Roomy and comfortable

Our party of 4 couples spent a weekend at the Mountain House in mid October for a road race at the Alchemist. The 8 of us had plenty of room; the beds were comfortable and the hot tub was a wonderful treat after running the race. The house is a few minutes from town in a quiet location in Mountain Rd. Be sure to read the information about key pick up and drop off ( as I forgot to do prior to arrival). Charming home with lots of room! We enjoyed the little touches like the gift bag upon arrival and high rend toiletries in the bathrooms. We plan on returning next year!

Perfect house for two families with kids!

We had a fantastic time staying here over Indigenous People’s day weekend!!! We had two families, each with two kids aged 5 and 7. The house was awesome for our group! The siblings each had their own rooms and the adults had nice sized rooms that were comfy and had bathrooms. The kids had a ball playing outside on the property, going in the hot tub, and entertained themselves for hours in the game room. The kitchen was well stocked and spacious for all of us. Best of all the house was close to the mountain, hiking, corn maze, town, and restaurants. The property manager was fantastic with communication and made everything so easy for us. We’d be lucky to stay here again!!! Fantastic:)

Great house, ok management

Lovely home!! Would absolutely go back and stay there. It was clean and perfect for our ski weekend. The only negative is the check in/out process. I’ve NEVER had to drive 15+ minutes to pick up a key from someone else’s home (property manager), and then drive 15+ min to drop it off at the end of my stay. I was also accused of losing a key (which I did not because I only received 1 in the bag that was sitting outside of her home), which didn’t feel good (and also would never have happened if they had a lock box like every other rental home). Advice to you if you rent this home: take a picture of all of the contents in your bag when you receive it.

Winter Wonderland

It was a bit a bit challenging at first because there was a power outage in Stowe. We found the candles and flashlights and lit a fire until the power came back on. The property manager sent the snow plow later that night to clear the driveway so we wouldn’t get snowed in. After that, we enjoyed Winter Wonderland fun, sledding on the property, riding the gondola to lunch at the top of the ski resort, snow shoeing and cross country skiing just a stone’s throw away. We enjoyed plenty of cute shops and good restaurants in the quaint town of Stowe. The house itself was very well equipped and the welcome gift box was much appreciated. When we smelled gas on Christmas Day, the property manager sent someone out to fix it within an hour! We had a fabulous family holiday!

Great House and Location!

Authentic and clean house that is very close to Stowe Mountain. Easily walk to the toll lift and avoid the traffic and parking lot. The house is well designed with plenty of living space and two fireplaces that throw off a lot of warmth! Outdoor spaces are private and can be enjoyed all year long. A Stowe hidden gem!

Excellent Stay at the Toll House for a Ski Trip

We had a great time in the Toll House. We had a party of 6 who came for my 40th birthday to ski and hang out and the house was perfect -- it was very spacious could have easily accommodated more people as well. The house is charming and the pictures are very accurate. It is surrounded by tall trees on a big lot, and feels very secluded. Big kitchen allowed us to all eat around the table together. We used the huge fireplace every night and the hot tub worked great, even in sub zero temps! Elaine (property manager) was very responsive and accommodating. Finally, it is an extremely quick drive from the house to the base area of Stowe Mountain Resort. I would highly recommend this property!
