'Owner wasn’t expecting us for another day so house had not been cleaned nor linens changed. I called owner, read my booking confirmation, and they got someone out to house to do a quick clean and linen change about bed time. I have read prior reviews by dog owners and they loved it. But there were far too many dog hairs, stains & smells for us. Carpets, sofas, and chairs are filthy even after a thorough vacuuming. A minor point for me was that none of linen matched, not even 2 pillow cases...

'Fantastic stay at John O Groats. We had booked a double ensuite room which looked lovely. When we arrived the manager was waiting for us to ask if we would mind if they upgraded our room as the heating wasnt wasnt working. Obviously we didnt mind. Imagine our surprise when we were shown to our upgraded room. They had given us a three bedroomed, two bathroom lodge which was amazing. Warm, comfortable clean and pur luxury. We settled down by the logburner to watch the sea through the huge windows....
