'Fantastic experience all round - we checked in easily with a warm welcome from the staff. Our room was lovely, very clean, comfy bed and great decor. Little extras were provided too - the portable toothbrush & paste, shower cap and shaving kit, which was a lovely addition, especially if you've forgotten one of these. There was a coffee machine with a variety of teas, coffees and hot chocolate. USB socket as well as normal plug socket. Internet access was easy too. A useful folder in the room...

'The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes'

'From arrival to departure Jonathan, Melissa and Magnus (The Dog) were the most wonderful hosts. We stayed in the Fat Badger Hut which was absolutely stunning, the bed was the cosiest thing ever and the room was well decorated. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The little things including the beautifully lit garden with fairy lights and water features plus our hosts hospitality was unquestionably outstanding. This was a truly perfect staycation. We will definitely be going back. '
