The home is beautiful, well maintained, and accurately represented in the listing. Communication with the host was timely and professional.Due to a severe winter storm and a State of Emergency in the Smoky Mountains/Tennessee area, our family was unable to safely stay at the property. The location involves steep, narrow mountain roads and a very steep driveway, which became unsafe under the extreme winter conditions. When we asked about snow removal - the host indicated snow removal was not provided, though we could park at the bottom of the street if we felt safer. We decided it was not safe for our family to travel to or from the home.We contacted the host to ask whether a refund or rescheduling might be possible under the circumstances. While the listing clearly states a non-refundable policy, we hoped there might be flexibility given the weather emergency. Unfortunately, no alternative options were offered. We ultimately stayed in a hotel within Sevierville city limits, where roads were plowed and travel felt safer. This is a lovely property, but future guests—especially those booking winter stays—may want to carefully consider weather risks, road conditions, and the cancellation policy when planning their trip.
