Dear [Hotel Name] General Manager,
I am writing to express my concerns and request your assistance regarding a recent experience with my reservation at your hotel.
I originally made a reservation for the dates of August 21–23. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances—my wallet was stolen among other challenges—I needed to cancel and reschedule my stay for a later date.
When I contacted your property, I was placed on hold multiple times, often for up to 15 minutes without any updates. Eventually, I spoke with Daniel, who informed me that any changes needed to be made through Expedia. I followed that instruction; however, after numerous attempts by both myself and Expedia to reach Daniel via phone and email, we were unable to get a response for the rest of the day. Finally, Expedia managed to speak with him, but he declined to approve my full refund.
I want to emphasize that I had no issue with rebooking at a later date and still do not. My request is simply for a fair resolution. While I understand being charged for the first night if necessary, I believe I should be refunded the remaining balance of the reservation.
I value good service and believe this situation could have been handled better, which is why I wanted to bring it to your attention directly. I hope we can reach a reasonable resolution. Please let me know how we can move forward.
