I would say i wouldnt recommend this house again. The #1 issue, being the AC. We were told not to turn lower than 70, the house was very musty smelling and warm all the time. The upstairs unit rattled and was very noisy. The front door did not seal well, and you could feel the heat coming thru. Never could get the house cooled the entire stay of 5 nights. The couch is a small sofa, not as pictured in the photos..Furniture outside was very rough looking, old. Wood was in bad shape.Husband had to use a knife the fix the back door handle that was coming out of the door, otherwise someone could have easlily gotten in. There is a washer /dryer combo..but no washer tabs, so had to buy some to even have clean towels for the days we were there. Overall, for the price, definately unsatisfactory!!The iwners could do a better job. And with the summer seasons coming. Beware, tbe house will be hot. Even with the AC running constantly.
I'm 5'6" and my wife is a bit shorter than me and we loved the tint home but if you are tall you are going to feel cramped with the main level ceiling being low and with the bedroom (loft) limiting headroom as well. Again no issues here! As others have said the stairs up to the loft were very steep - but doable as long as you are in decent shape. Had I not read the other reviews in advance that would have been an unwelcomed surprise. We liked how it was far enough away from the river to get some P&Q, but close enough to walk around and enjoy the riverwalks restaurants and nightlife. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay!
Perfect stay for a couple, we spent 6 nights here. Location is incredible. Quarters are tight and stairs to the lofted bedroom are more like a ladder, so wouldnât be a good stay for those with mobility issues, but we had all the space we needed. Pro tip: parking is metered in front of the home but free just a block away east of Broad street.
Tiny house is adorable and in a great location. The only drawback is max height is six feet to clear the beams and bathroom entry and the stairs to the loft are quite steep but doable. Would definitely stay here again.
We love staying at the Tiny House! This was the second time we stayed there. Everything was perfect. The house was clean and cozy. It was accessible (walking) to everything we needed. The team was available and checked in on us to make sure all of our needs were met. Highly recommend.
It was exactly what weâd wanted. A place in the historic district that was within walking distance of everything we were interested in seeing. We walked to riverfront, restaurants, Forsyth Park, Colonial Park Cemetery and historic points of interests.
We got a kick out of the tour groupsâŠbike tours, horse-drawn carriages, trolleysâŠthat stopped in front of the house as a point of interest on THEIR tour. Weâd wave at them from the window or front stoop as they snapped pictures of this unique Tiny House built in 1845.
Be prepared for steep steps to the upstairs bedroom. We are retired so we arenât spring chickens but we had no issue navigating ladder-like steps. Just took our time moving between floors.
We found a neighborhood restaurant very close to Tiny House and thought weâd try it on a lark: 17Hundred90. It was excellent. In the 10 days we were in Savannah, we went twice. This is just one reason we enjoyed Tiny House. It was our sanctuary after a day of walking & exploring and gave us the chance to immerse ourselves in the neighborhood.
The house is on peaceful, tranquil Greene Square. The weather was beautiful for us, especially for February. We would sit and relax or read on one of the benches under the beautiful oak trees in the late afternoon.
Loved having a combo washer/dryer and outside grill. King-sized bed was very comfortable. Great water pressure in shower.
Super clean. Historic, yet has many modern upgrades. Tiny but not too tiny- no loft, can actually stand in bedroom. Walk to so much. Right on a square, super close to Broughton and River St's. As someone who lived in Sav for 10yrs, can tell you this is a great location. Had walked this house many times and admired it. After we figured out it was a rental, had to stay. Not loud, crazy. Small homes like this are not for everyboday but we enjoyed it. Stairs/ladder could be an issue for less agile and/or older folks. Parking was never an issue (get multi-day pass). First time dealing with this rental company- good experience. Thank you, thank you.
We loved our stay at the Tiny House and would stay again! It was a great location. Walking distance to River Street and everything in the historic district, yet still a quiet area. Street parking was easy in front of the house. The bed was extremely comfortable and the house was stocked with everything we needed. Perfect place to stay for a couple, but might be tight for 4. The steep stairs might be difficult for some. Overall, it was a great stay and we enjoyed this little piece of history!
First I would like to say that we had a wonderful stay here and listed below are just some small things that I think could make the stay even better for future guests. It was in an excellent location, we were able to walk everywhere. The horse carriage tours come right through the square on their way to pick up guests first thing in the morning. It was fun to sit on the front steps and watch them come through.
I think it would be helpful to have more information in the guest handbook. All that was in there were pictures of the property and I think a list of places to eat.
1. How to turn on the shower. We had a time trying to figure out how to use the shower (if you are reading this review, you have to pull the handle straight out from the wall towards you and the smaller knob controls the rain head)
2. How to use the washer. We didn't even attempt this. Also there was no dryer that we could find.
3. This unit does not have a dishwasher which is fine but a little confusing when we were told to load the dishwasher before we left.
4. Where the trashcan outside is. We had to hunt for it, it was well hidden around the back side of the house.
5. It said there would be shampoo and soap provided.... there was one mini bar of soap and one mini bottle of a 2 in 1 shampoo/ conditioner so be sure to pack your own. Had we not packed or own we would have had to go buy some.
6. Where extra blankets are. I'm still not sure if there were any extra. We took the comforter off the bed upstairs to use on the pull out bed. Thank goodness it wasn't cold while we stayed.
7. Information on how to use the grill.
8. How to turn the lights on in the tree outside.
This home was very cute. Upon checkin, the house smelled a little musty and was very hot. The upstairs ac unit had come detached from the wall and was blowing hot air out the back and it was difficult to get to stay. The property owners did check in with us and I let them know we had tried to attach it back the best we could. The stairs are very steep, as mentioned, and would be generally unsuitable for children and pets. The bed was hard and would make sleep difficult if you prefer a softer bed. It was definitely an experience as you your buses often slowed out front to take photos. Itâs in a great neighborhood, parking was easy with the city visitorâs pass, another area is very safe, walkable and close to so many great things.
I truly enjoyed my stay in the tiny home! Great location, a few blocks from downtown to be slightly away from the noise. I recommend going to the parking garage and getting a parking pass that allows you to park at any metered spot for an unlimited amount of time!
The home itself was clean while keeping its charming old features. It also had convenient modern updates in the kitchen and bathroom.
Check in was super easy as well as check out. The host messaged us on the first day asking if we needed anything which we did not!
A few downsides- the water was not well contained in the shower despite every effort. It got all over the floor.
The patio furniture in the back was dirty to the point where we could not sit on them and enjoy the back patio. We also could not figure out how to plug in the outdoor lights.
There was no full length mirror which made it difficult getting ready for a wedding, which brought us to Savannah.
Lastly, the grips on the stairs/ladder were PAINFUL to walk on barefoot. A grip is totally necessary but it made for an uncomfortable trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Overall, I would consider staying in another property by this host.
We really enjoyed our stay at Tiny House. We really appreciated having a small kitchen and outdoor gas grill available for those nights that we didnât want to eat out or just have a quick breakfast in the morning. The very private patio in the back was very pleasant for sitting outside in the evening. Our dog also enjoyed sniffing around there as it was completely fenced in. The washer/dryer combo also came in handy when I found the weather to be cooler than expected. I didnât bring enough warm clothing. The ceiling is low but my husband is 5â 11 â and was fine. I think that if you were much over 6 feet tall though youâd have to duck a lot. The stairs to the loft is also very steep but we had no problem using it. The only real drawback was the shower. It was fine once we figured out how to use it and that took a few days to get it right. The top knob determines which shower head the water comes out of. If the handle is up it comes out of the ceiling. If down then the wall. Pulling it out turns on the shower but the water doesnât come out right away. You have to turn the lower knob counter-clockwise 5 times before it works. To turn it off push in the top knob and turn the bottom one clockwise 5 times. So, thatâs a word of warning.
Property is neat and clean, but needs some basic attention. Both tvs are too small in todays world. Downstairs TV did not work. Up TV did not have either CNN or Fox. Stairs to up bedroom are precipitous and scary...old people should avoid. Shower valve is impossible to work without ten minutes study. Also pool is ostensibly available, but write-up conveniently omits that it is l5 miles away.
It is a historic house. The only little house in Savannah. Cozy living room, loft bedroom and a very very private backyard - which is hard to come by -for drinks and relaxing. Kitchen is cute and had everything for a couple.
It does state can sleep 4 but with only 1 bathroom I would recommend it as a perfect couples getaway!
The tiny house was a perfect place for me and my partner. Just enough space to hang out, beautiful bathroom and kitchen - blending the old and new. It has tons of charm, spacious back patio, and an incredible location. Has a comfy bed - though you do need to be careful on the steps up - and appreciated the additional a/c up there. Highly recommend.
