Strict NO Pets Allowed. This exceptional Mediterranean custom home has amazing Pacific Ocean views from upper Marine Terrace. This exquisite home sits atop a beautifully landscaped ½ acre parcel backing up to 400 acres of open space. A private gate opens up to an array of hiking and biking trails that lead to the ocean below. Cherry wood, marble and granite set the backdrop for this beautifully appointed home. Brand new furnishings include organic cotton mattresses and finely crafted Amish furniture. Tiffany lamps, overstuffed couch with love seat and leather chairs with ottomans all surround the marble fireplace and the 42”LCD HDTV with premium cable channels. Designer outdoor furniture fill the spacious decks for ample out door dining and entertaining. A lovely umbrella patio heater and Weber Genesis Propane Grill complete the cozy outdoor environment. The Master suite with King bed includes an oversized two person Jacuzzi tub and a luxurious five headed marble shower. The Queen and Twin bedded rooms are on the opposite side of the home for added privacy with the spacious and fully equipped gourmet kitchen in between. The “No Expense Spared” attitude of this home is combined with a warm and inviting tone that will make you want to return year after year. Maximum occupancy: 6 guests
Note from the owners: Due to the extreme drought conditions, we discourage use of the Jacuzzi tub, and ask that guests use only 1 shower head in the Master bathroom instead of the 5 available. We also, request that guests further conserve water by taking personal laundry home, limit unnecessary flushing of toilets, and keeping showers under 5 minutes. We are sorry for any inconvenience that these conservation measures may cause, however, we are confident that you will enjoy our home in lovely Cambria despite these conditions. Gas Fireplace, CD, DVD, TV in all bedrooms, Premium Cable TV Channels, Wireless Internet, and free national long distance calling. Cell phone service is not dependable. This is a lovely clean home with beautiful views. We loved the walking trails nearby. The living room furniture wasn’t very comfortable and we were disappointed that the filtered water in the refrigerator didn’t work. Overall we would happily recommend this place.

We loved the property and it's location. The house was very clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped, and stocked. Everything in the house functioned properly and we had no problems or complaints. I especially liked the home's view of the ocean and it's proximity to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, with it's many hiking trails and views of the coast.

Girls Trip

The house and grounds were just beautiful. We especially loved all the wildlife that came in the yard...deer, quail, wild turkeys, and even a bunny. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable. A few too many extra steps made it a bit difficult for my disabled partner but the wooden walking stick by the front door was a big help. It was a bit disappointing to not be able to use the jacuzzi tub and multiple shower heads due to the drought, but not unexpected. Overall, our group of 5 friends were comfortable and pleased with our visit to celebrate some special birthdays. Love Cambria...great restaurants and shops and the ocean views are beautiful. One last question...where is the tennis court referred to online...we never found it. Overall, a great place to stay.

Gatsby House

We (two couples) enjoyed an anniversary weekend together at the Gatsby House. The floor plan is perfect with the primary suite on one side of the house and two bedrooms on the other, sharing a large bathroom. Plenty of space. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked and is spacious. We enjoyed the views of the ocean from the front balcony porch. It's a short walk to various Fiscalini Ranch trailheads. While the property backs up to the preserve, the back gate was locked on our visit. The beds were excellent. While the decor of the house wasn't entirely our style, the furniture is quality and everything is comfortable. Given the tired castoffs we've seen in some vacation rentals, this was a welcome change!

Rented for a long getaway weekend with my wife. House was beautifully furnished and extremely clean with lots of comfortable lounging areas. Access to the trails was through the back gate and a short walk down to the water. Very well equipped kitchen in one of the cleanest houses we've ever rented. Great experience.

Wonderful vacation home

Our group of 4 ladies had a wonderful stay at the Gatsby home. It was very clean and well stocked with linens and kitchen utensils and supplies. We enjoyed our morning coffee each day with a view of the ocean from the front porch. The back patio was peaceful and comfortable for evening wine and relaxation. The beds were comfortable with plenty of covers. We left the bedroom window open at night to enjoy the ocean beeeze and it usually got pretty chilly. Walked each morning through the neighborhood to the Fiscallini Ranch Preserve for a 2 mile walk along the ocean. Please be aware there are a couple of steps into the sunken living room, up to the master suite and out to the front porch. Overall a wonderful and comfortable vacation home!

Lovely but with a few limitations

This house is clean and comfortable. We loved the area as it was extremely quiet, offered partial ocean views, and proximity to countless hiking trails. We were surprised by some of the limitations that were not accurately presented in the description. For example, the private gate to the nature preserve and trails was locked and offered us no access. The Jacuzzi tub, which was important to us in booking the house, was "off limits" per the signage on the tub due to drought conditions. The french doors from the bedroom to the back deck were to remain closed at all times for some reason. We understand that stuff breaks and droughts happen, etc., but we didn't gather we'd be stifled to this degree from the listing. Overall, I would recommend this house. It has charm, heart, and all of the furniture and kitchen equipment one could hope for. Great location.

Fantastic place. Great location. Very clean.

Next time I am in Cambria I will definitely try to stay here again. It was the cleanest property I have ever stayed in and given the current Covid concern that was a top priority. Location was great - walk out the back gate straight into Fiscalini Reserve for ocean and wooded walks. Town is only a 5-10 minute drive (or walkable - a couple of miles each way). Amenities great - fantastic grill and outdoor heater. Loved morning coffee on the front porch and dinner under the heater out back. 100% recommend.

Exceeded Expectations

Driving up to the property, I said outloud "please let this be the house" and it was! What a treat! Great home in a great neighborhood in a great town on the central coast -- you really can't beat it. Thank you to our hosts for a most wonderful vacation. We had so much fun and woke up to find that we had deer in the front yard as a special treat. We walked the preserve every morning and took photos of the abundant wildlife there. Simple ideal. The home was cozy yet beautiful and every effort was made to make us feel comfortable. I highly recommend this property!!!

Pleasing Getaway

As we parked upon arrival at Gatsby Cottage, we were greeted by a majestic antlered buck in the driveway, protecting his little family in the front yard! They munched a bit from the lovely manicured yard while we explored the house. So clean & well furnished! We found everything we needed and more. Nice beach decor mixed with a definite nod to craftsman furniture & leaded glass lampshades. Lovely protected patio in back that looks onto the Fiscalini Preserve. There are trails accessible right from the back gate which led us down to the Bluff Trail and the beach walk. We were very comfortable here and would love to revisit when in the area.

Luxurious house, amazing location

My wife and I had a great time hiking and biking in Cambria. The house was beautiful, spacious, and appointed with everything we could’ve possibly needed. Old house -can’t use tub or fridge or French bedroom doors

It was once nice. But I would have stayed somewhere different if I had been told that you can’t use the jacuzzi tub. Not a great walk to beach. Front yard and curb appeal are nice, the backyard is not. House is definitely okay, but they need to stop advertising it like it is a high end property.

We loved our stay here. The house is beautiful and feels luxurious. The bed in the master bedroom felt new: excellent support and also pillow top. The house is next to former ranch land that is now a preserve. You can walk on trails and get spectacular views of the rocky coastline below. It takes a few minutes to drive to the village, partly on narrow twisty roads. Cambria is a cute village that is not too touristy. The beach here is low-key. It is perfect if you are looking for upscale, private relaxation

This is an immaculate home with white water ocean views in a quiet neighborhood! You can hear the waves crashing while enjoying coffee or wine on the terrace. This home is equipped with everything you might need as far as pots, pans, dishes, and small appliances if you intend on cooking your own meals. There is an extensive supply of spices left by previous renters. There is even a TV hidden in a cabinet above the refrigerator! The beds are comfortable. (The only upgrade I could suggest is improved lighting in the bathrooms for purposes of applying makeup.) It was a real treat to come back to this home after a long day of sight-seeing and shopping! Book it!

Great Weekend!

The house is beautiful and so comfortable. This house is so well equipped it just has everything you need for a great stay. The location is wonderful for walks on the bluff. A short drive takes you to town with great restaurants and fun shopping. Scenic Coast Properties is great to work with from renting to checkout.
