Terry Anderson, the owner, worked out details for me to meet Elliot, his property manager, at their other property Mata Rocks and he would take me to Casa Miradores. We arrived and Casa Miradores was everything you see in the pictures, absolutely stunning!!! Elliot went through an orientation with me, which included locking doors and the safe, which towels to take to the beach and which to use at the beach, and have us a cell phone to use to the contact Elliot if we needed anything while we were there. The first couple of days went great and we really enjoyed the house. The third morning came and we got ready to head out as the daily housekeeper got there. I asked her if she was the one that cleaned the house everyday because I wanted to tip her at the end of the week, she said yes she was. We checked the doors as we did EVERY time we left the house and they were all locked and then we headed out for the day about 11 am. We returned after a long day of exploring the island and found our iPads, laptop, digital camera, multiple sunglasses, and a phone charger missing and the side door unlocked. The only thing missing from the House was the cell phone they gave us which didn’t actually work. I immediately sent Terry multiple messages through VRBO and we contacted Elliot and the police. Terry didn’t reply until I messaged him again the day of check out, Elliot and the police showed up promptly. The police weren’t much help and told us to come to the station the next day. We didn’t feel safe so I told Elliot we needed to stay at the resort which he obliged. The room at the resort had water all over the floor and smelled bad but it was midnight or so and my nerves were shot so we stayed. Elliot took us to the police station the next morning and they took our statement. We then went to the property with the police and CSI to take prints and they both told me they suspected the housekeeper. Terry finally responded to me the day of check out and told me to call him the next day. I spend the next day in the airport so I called him the next day. He immediately seemed annoyed I called him and when I suggested a refund he scoffed and blamed the whole thing on us. He said not only the housekeeper but Elliot and another employee said we left the doors unlocked and asked if we’d rather have stayed outside! His employees are the only ones claiming we left doors open, after I requested nobody enter the house after the incident!
