Private 2 Bedroom / 1 Bath Apartment - Secluded 2 acre Estate/Orchard

Enjoy our serene and beautiful loft apartment in south Rancho Santa Fe. The space is upstairs over the garage attached to our main home but separated by a locked internal door. Quiet and private retreat on garden like 2 acre estate. Kid friendly and just minutes from the beach, fair grounds, restaurants, golf, horse riding, and shopping. This spacious 900 sq ft getaway includes wifi, two flat screen TVs, kitchenette, dining table, King bed, additional two twin XL beds that can convert to a King, and a queen airbed for additional guests. 7 miles from the beach, 2.5 miles from Trader Joe's.

We recently added a kitchenette with new appliances and island bar. You'll notice airy vaulted ceilings in the living room and master suite with sky lights in each bed room. Beautiful views of the property from all windows. The area is very quiet so sleeping with the windows open is ideal.

There are 18 Macadamia-nut trees on the southeast and southwest areas of the property. The largest is near the patio chairs by the main house. We have a gazebo and Zen garden on the west end of the property and an antique windmill transplanted here from Fairbanks Ranch.

The property is completely fenced with a private gate and long driveway. Guests access the apartment via private entrance upstairs above the garage. Private entrance has an electronic keypad. Guests can park near the stairs. There are small walking access gates on the northwest and southwest of the property.

We booked this place for 9 days, it is not setup to accommodate a long stay.1. No hot water in kitchen2. The washer dryer is ONE unit and the drying portion takes hours to dry. We dried the towels outside and took the rest of our clothes to a laundromat. 3. The grill was not available to use, it is also located downstairs on the owner’s patio4. The carpeting was not vacuumed 5. In the master bathroom area, the sink did not have hot water until you ran the shower hot water for several minutes6. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash set attached to the shower wall was broken. It was unusable and very old, needs to be replaced. The knobs fell off.7. The couch needs to be cleaned and Febreezed along with the blanket provided.8. In the kitchen, there were no large bowls, no cookie sheets, no casserole dishes, 1 frying pan, no wine glasses, no spatulas to flip meat. 9. The sound stick in the living room did not work. Difficult to change channels.The master closet was filled with junk, could barely hang our clothes.

Roger’s place was a nice, quiet retreat to retire to at the end of our busy days in SD. The kitchen was super sweet. With a coded front door lock, arrival was super easy. Roger was very responsive.

Wonderful and blessed time

The property (and the hosts) were fantastic. We mostly just hung out all day at the pool and played games. A blessing having Trader Joe’s so close. We enjoyed wine-tasting only 30 minutes away. And for those who like to do touristy things, everything is quite close . Hoping to got back !!

Nice location and chance for some quiet

We had a great visit over spring break. The space was nice and bright. Roger was an excellent host. He made my daughter's day by giving her the chance to feed and hold one of their bunnies. The kids loved the host's very friendly dog, Posey, and were happy to see her. It was an easy drive to most tourist activities we were interested in doing in San Diego. We really liked being away from the action of the city at this location, it was nice and quiet. The host Roger was extremely friendly and very accommodating for our very late arrival time. I would highly recommend this location.

Cozy FROG/Apartment

The property was accurately listed and everything was as it says it was. Definitely recommend staying there if your looking for a centrally located place in Rancho Santa Fe. Everything was within 10 to 30 minute drive for us between the airport to Carlsbad. The the FROG was very spacious with all the amenities you need. Very quiet location as well.

Beautiful park like setting w/private balcony. Spacious floorplan and includes a lot of amenities and a nicely heated pool. Would most definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay near the San Diego area. You won't be disappointed!!

Exactly what we were hoping for

This was our first VRBO experience and it absolutely met our expectations. Check-in was smooth. We traveled with two young children, and the unit itself worked out well. Any of the major attractions for family visitors (e.g., Legoland, Safari Park, Sea World, Zoo, Coronado) were all within about 30 minutes. And the pool also provided a great, private respite from the attractions. If you're looking to walk to nightlife, this would not be a good choice. But for us and our needs it was great.
