'Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. There was a lot of debris on the ground, the kitchen area was really dirty and the room had rusty racks and shower curtains that allowed water to spray out all over the floor. 'Property was as stated except no hot tub. Shower was cold. Room very basic and clean. Needs new mattress. Pool was very nice. For the price it was just fine. Very rural area but the beaches are supreme. Host Gary is a nice guy.'

'Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax.'
