'We had a very nice stay at Douro Paradise. The name of the residence leaves nothing to the imagination: the house is very luxuriously equipped and the view is breathtaking. We were very warmly welcomed, delicious wine and a picnic were offered. Here is everything for a wonderful holiday.'

'We, family of three, enjoyed our stay very much. Helena and Francisco are very warm and welcoming people. Their son and daughter speak English well. The garden is beautifull with the waterfalls, the little lake and the vinyard. The cottages are well kept and much prettier than the pictures show. The outdoor kitchen with fridge which we shared with one other family was a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for peace and quiet you will love this place.'

'Fomos acolhidos pela dona Arminda e o senhor Antonio, pessoas muito simpaticas. Fomos muito bem acolhidos. A casa onde nos ficamos se situava no rês do chao. Pois é uma casa onde pode haver outra reserva nas mesmas datas. Mas os espaços sao totalmente independentes. A casa é muito bem equipada, limpinha e fresquinha. Os equipamentos exteriores sao excelentes (piscina e churrasqueira 5 estrelas). O unico premonor que nos incomodou foi de estar um cao a solta que nao estava descrito na descriçao...

'Voorzieningen waren prima. Mooie ligging. Er was een mogelijkheid om eten te bestellen, dat werd aan huis bezorgd op een tray. Enige minpunt was dat de airco, die in alle kamers aanwezig was, veel lawaai maakte en dus de nachtrust verstoorde. '

'We found the house easily. We loved the location. Lamego was close by with grocery stores, shopping and some lovely cultural sights. We were able to get to other places we wanted to see (Braga, Regua, Viseu) easily also. The kitchen was nicely equipped. We love to cook on vacation and this kitchen had all we needed. We ran out of gas one night and the host responded quickly and had someone at the house to change it within a half hour. Couple things to note - the listing says spa tub but there...

'Loved the place, Adriana is the best host. Well equipped, we cooked all our meals (stayed 2days). Only warning, it is a long way to the nearest store (20 min drive) so take everything with you. Loved our time there, breathtaking views and absolute calm.'

Vegan friendly place, amazing view and kind staff
"We had an amazing stay. The staff is kind and will do everything to ensure you have a pleasant stay. We asked for a vegan breakfast, and the staff, since they weren't sure what we would eat, asked what we loved and ensured we got it. If you're vegan- just let them know in advance what you prefer (the supermarkets nearby have a lot of vegan products). The view was breathtaking, and the entire place was unique and felt like home. The room we had was super comfortable and although the place has great pictures, in real, the room looked even better than the pictures. So overall - the high rank is definitely justified! We had an amazing time and hope to come back again in the future!"
