Our family stay was wonderful. The house was impeccable and Jason and Jen were fantastic hosts. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with fresh eggs from their own hens (hens we could see from the balcony, and my daughters loved that) and honey from their bees, as well as freshly ground local coffee. Very nice details! The area is very safe and kids have plenty of space to play and enjoy. I brought some steaks and used the gas grill and barbecue, and Jason kindly offered any tools I might need. Plenty of board games too, in case of rain. The two rooms are functional, and the kitchen too. They recommended we go to the safari drive, which we did and the kids very much enjoyed it. Overall, I strongly recommend staying in this house; we had a great time.

We absolutely loved our stay. The property is a slice of heaven with a great lawn, fire pit and river for the kids to play. Jen and Jason have thought of everything you could need, including bikes, fishing gear, eggs from their chickens, honey from their apiary and homemade soaps, and were very communicative and generous. We can't wait to book our next visit!

Beautiful property and wonderful place in the mountains too stay. The house is a bit dated, but that gives it a certain charm. I highly recommend. The owners are amazing and super friendly.

Upon arrival, we were impressed by the location of the home. Pics on Vrbo does it no justice. Nestled in the valley the views of the mountains are incredible. Check in was extremely simple. Once we walked in, we were transported back in time. Absolutely loved the nostalgia of the home. It was a bittersweet stay for us as we were dropping our son off to school at W&L. Once we returned form dropping him off, we met one of our host out front. She was very nice and easy to speak to. It made dropping our son off a lot easier. Our only regret is not staying longer. We will definitely be booking this home again. The fall colors must be incredible there. If the outdoors is your thing, this is your home.

Our stay here was fantastic. We were a party of 4 and we all loved this place. It is so nostalgic and holds so much history. It was like spending the night in a museum. Jen and Jason are great so if you're ever in the area I would highly suggest this home.

In town to visit friends

We really enjoyed our stay! In fairness, we did not spend much time in the house, as the purpose for our stay was to visit some nearby friends and most of our time was spent at their house. But the house seemed fully equipped (we especially appreciated the fresh eggs and snacks!) and the check in/out process was very easy.

Absolutely stunning property! It was exactly what was needed to rest and recharge. Amenities were fabulous and exactly as described in the description. The owners were very accommodating and even allowed our girls to swim in their swimming hole with their black lab. Would r commend to anyone looking for a place to stay.

We enjoyed staying at this house. It is a quiet and beautiful area. The place had everything we needed for our stay and appreciated the treats that the host provided. The house is about a 45 minute drive to Warm Springs and 20 minutes to Lexington. We recommend going to Devils Backbone Brewing in Lexington.

God's Country

We loved our stay at this slice of heaven with river access. The hosts are awesome, and the location is perfect for a summer getaway for hiking, fishing, swimming, campfires, and more. The hosts were incredibly kind to my kids (5 and 7). My wife and kids loved it, and we plan to return.

Best place to stay in the area for a wedding

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away. We had a wedding to go to on Saturday and decided to stay the whole weekend. We absolutely love our choice we picked. The house was wonderful and definitely beat staying at a hotel 100%. It was located close to the wedding venue and we enjoyed everything this home had to offer. VMI Trip

Comfortable & clean country setting

The hosts’ J & J were easy to communicate w/ & very kind. Kind enough to leave us w/ snacks, fresh eggs, honey & a clean comfortable environment. My mother & I enjoy visiting w/ my son to celebrate his birthday weekend, before he goes to TBS. We would absolutely stay again. Highly recommended!
