  • We only allow dogs in our pet friendly rooms. One dog is free, but the second is an additional $25 one time. Please let us know if you are bringing a second dog.



    The old motor lodge re-invented! We recently took two hotel rooms and combined into one nice kitchenette suite. All new bathrooms, kitchens, doors, windows, lock system and furniture. Still has the old radiators and wall mounted AC units that we just couldn't find a way around, but they work great! An excellent base camp to enjoy the Black Hills and Badlands. Owners are avid hikers and mountain bikers who have lived in the area their entire lives. Happy to help get you pointed in the right direction. This apartment is located on the second floor.

Very convenient location. Good suggestions for places to eat. Some maintenance issues. Sofa isn’t very comfortable. But, the total cost for 4 nights was about 400. Definitely worth it. We needed a/c and heat. Both worked fine. Good hot water. Needs more dishes and flatware.

Quick trip

Just needed a quick spot for a business trip in the middle of the Sturgis Rally. Property was a great value and very nice.

The Tiny House was a delightful place in Hulett. It was tastefully decorated. The charm of the town played out for us when the school band marched by in practice! And walking the streets where the corner flower gardens shouted color added to the experience. The Museum and Art Gallery is definitely worth a visit. So much history and relics. The people in this town were very kind! This home carried that same inviting feeling!

It was not very pleasant. The room was clean but not inviting. It was fairly drab and uncomfortable. There's not much natural light. The furniture feels cheap, a lot of pressed board type. The check-in process was difficult because the keyboard screen for entering information is very small, has low contrast, and is hard to read in bright sunlight. I think the concept was good and a few tweaks could make it much more pleasant.

The stay was perfect for our plans. The location is fantastic for multiple reasons, but our stay it was perfect to access national parks and get to downtown for food and shopping. It was easy to get back to the interstate to continue our journey as well. The bed was comfortable and couch in the living room was as well. We found it a bit odd that the air conditioner was only in one room, but fortunately it did not affect our comfort in the bedroom. It was powerful enough to get the job done.

Girl trip 2022

Property was perfect for my trip. Convenient to all the attractions, restaurants, and most of your needs. Clean and just as described. The young men and women managing the property are doing a wonderful job. Very attentive, always available for any needs, questions, ect. If your looking for a place in the heart of Rapid City., this is a great choice.

Great Place Didn’t Disappoint

Clean, exactly as described. Check in and out was easy. 10 out of 10 for us.. only thing is we couldn’t find any extra trash bags. Other than that perfect..

Intro to SD

We were very pleased with the accommodations. We were on our 10th day of traveling and were ready for a couple of nights of rest. The separate bedroom provided plenty of space for us to spread out and relax for two nights after sightseeing during the day. We found not only Sojourn but Rapid City was very dog friendly as we enjoyed dinner one night downtown. We did accidently leave some things in the room after checkout and were quickly contacted. We are in the process of making arrangements to have the items shipped to our house. Thanks for a delightful time.

One small problem

We arrived a half hour prior to our check in time, tired and hot from traveling. We had hoped to check in and get our room key, but no such luck. We had to wait in the hot sun before the proper time would allow us to get our key. My suggestion would be to allow your auto key system to open 1 hour with in the 3 pm check in time.

Don’t stay here! Not worth it. The good: host was responsive and tried. Maintenance guy was nice and tried as well. The apartment-the bad: we arrived on a rainy day and were wet from being outside-could not figure out how to get heat to work. No instructions in the apartment for anything. Called host and came out and got the heat on which lasted exactly 15 min and went back out-he also brought us another blanket-thank you! Neither tv worked-host reset them-one continues to work -the one in the living room went out and didn’t come back on. Carpet was dirty and had dirt and small rocks the I kept walking on. Next day tried to get the air conditioner on because it was going to be 100 degrees. Called host and he sent maintenance. Maintenance got the air on but again it went on and off and never got cool-mostly the fan running. We didn’t bother calling again because obviously it wasn’t going to work right. It was so hot and very uncomfortable the rest of our stay. Air conditioner/heater was in the living room and nothing in the bedroom. We continued to try to fix the air while we were there and the in the window air conditioner was disgustingly dirty with lint and dirt stuck to the outside of it along with the top of the refrigerator. There was a fan in the closet that we were able to turn on in the bedroom after trying to clean it because it was nasty and dirt hanging off of it. You don’t want that flying through the air while you are trying to sleep with it being over 100
