Tracy is an amazing communicator - kind, thoughtful and spot on with her outreach. I enjoyed her hosting and her tiny lighthouse-shaped cottage. This is truly a tiny house, a dozen feet or so on a side, perfectly suited for one (or two who really like each other!) people. Downstairs holds a micro, but well-equipped, kitchenette and bathroom. A trip up a sturdy ladder with grab bars takes you to a bedroom with a memory foam full-sized bed with a pile of wonderful warm, soft bedding, a small table and a couple of high chairs, and an absolutely breathtaking 270-degree view through arched windows and a fulll patio wall of water and, periodically, bald eagles. We watched ice sheets and weather come in and out during our wintertime visit and were absolutely charmed. A few technical difficulties: it was brutally cold while we were there (temps in the 10s-20s but winds at 50 mph plus), and we had some trouble keeping both electric heaters running (one upstairs, one down) even with no other lights or electrical items running. Tracy told us those are being replaced with propane models, and we saw evidence of that conversion in progress. The DVD player/TV was inconsistent for us, which was meaningful in a place with no wifi. But these are ultimately minor quibbles; the place was spotless, the host was tremendous, and the view was incredibly impressive, even to world travelers. If you're the type who works in bed on a laptop, this is a lovely retreat.
