The ocean was the highlight of the stay. We saw whales in the distance. We saw turtles cruising in the surf. We had an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal visit our beach. Having a beach directly behind the unit was fantastic. In just a few short steps we were walking on the sand enjoying the water. We were able to get in some snorkeling, too. The view from the master bedroom was amazing both at sunset and at night. The sky was filled with stars and the natural beauty was unmatched. The complex is very well maintained. We had a comfortable stay but the unit itself is somewhat dated and worn. The dishes and glassware are a random collection of mismatched pieces. Electrical outlets were loose. A couple of light bulbs were burned out. One closet was so full of random stuff that it was virtually useless. But we made do and enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.Being there over Christmas and New Years had its challenges with the management company. There was confusion over pool access and for a time. We called Security, there was no answer and the mailbox was full. Texts were responded to and our needs were ultimately met. The staff were always pleasant and did their best. The fires took a terrible toll on the Lahaina community. Puamana deserves credit for continuing to service their guests and residents while recovering from the devastation. In closing, my rating of a “4” is an average of a “5” for the setting, location and view and a “3” for the unit itself.
