(BTW, if you arrive late, like we did shortly after 8, either quickly make to a restaurant–most close their kitchens by 8:30–or do what we did, go down the street toward the grocery near the water's edge and pick up things you can cook). 'Met de ferry naar Isle of Raasay en overnachten in een hotel met whiskybrouwerij. Het complex bezit een smaakvolle combinatie van oud/traditioneel met nieuw, fris en jong. Enthousiaste, flexibele en betrokken medewerkers. Rondleiding door de brouwerij was leuk en leerzaam. Bij mooi/helder weer een geweldig uitzicht vanuit alle openbare ruimtes. Ambitie is 1 michelin ster te behalen, maar dat is wellicht iets te hoog gegrepen. Niettemin: geweldig eten, met alle zorg die erbij hoort. Dit is een hotel waarin je aan het eind van een grauwe, verkleumende, morsige dag terugkomt en dan de typisch Schotse sfeer treft: een lobby met banken om in weg te zinken, een open haard die volop brand en dan een dubbele whisky.
